BAND-MAID will hold a special performance on “Maid Day”! A total of 22 songs made up of released and unreleased songs since the coronavirus pandemic will be performed!

The globally popular girl band BAND-MAID held “BAND-MAID THE DAY OF MAID” at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo on May 10th.

On this day, “Maid’s Day,” the venue was packed full of masters and mistresses (as fans call them) who had been waiting for this special performance. On August 16, 2020, the tour final performance, which was supposed to be BAND-MAID’s first live performance at Zepp Haneda, was forced to be canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the live performance was held online from another location. (live streaming). Therefore, this day could be called Zepp Haneda’s revenge performance for BAND-MAID, making it doubly special.

The familiar sound effects played, and when the members appeared, they were greeted with loud cheers and applause, and SAIKI (Vo.) yelled “Come on!” and they accelerated with “BLACK HOLE,” the fastest song in BAND-MAID’s history. The wait staff started in full swing. Next, they excited the floor with “Giovanni,” “Balance,” and “HATE?” without slowing down, and Miku Kobato (Vo./Gt.) greeted them with “THE DAY OF MAID, BAND-MAID de po!” Now on to the first MC part.

It has been five years since BAND-MAID held a real-life waitperson event on Maid’s Day, and after once again expressing their gratitude to the masters and young ladies for making this day possible, Performed “Shambles”, which has gained support all over the world as the ending theme song for “Kengan Ashura” Season 2. “Hibana” starts with KANAMI (Gt.)’s powerful guitar play, “I still seek revenge” has an impressive bass line resounding from the slap of MISA (Ba.), and “Why Why” bursts with SAIKI’s cool and powerful vocals. They performed three songs from their 2021 album “Unseen World” in quick succession, including “Why” and “Manners”, which embodies BAND-MAID’s “return to origins” and “current evolution”. Immediately after overwhelming the audience with the instrumental song “From Now On”, which highlights the high performance skills of each member, during the MC, the audience was filled with laughter with an exchange that showed the closeness of the members, and the gap between the performance and the MC was felt. I can’t help but smile.

In the second half of the performance, SAIKI exclaimed, “Can we fight in the second half?” and re-ignited the excitement in the floor with “After Life.” After exciting the audience with the surprise unreleased song “Go easy,” Miku Kobato switched to an acoustic guitar and began playing “Memorable,” followed by “about Us,” and the waitstaff moved into the ballad zone. The venue was filled with the magnificent sound and vocals of “Bestie,” a new song co-written with Mike Einziger (guitarist) of the American alternative band Incubus, who recently performed together at Tokyo Garden Theater and became a hot topic. After “Corallium,” the band gears up again with an up-tempo number, and Miku Kobato sings “Brightest star,” a song that has become a standard song for waitpersons even though it hasn’t been released yet. When it was announced that the song, along with the song “Go easy” that was performed earlier, would be included in a full-length album to be released this summer, the venue was filled with cheers. When the topic of the full-length album, which is currently in production, was mentioned, many people expressed their expectations and support for the members.

Then, Miku Kobato’s familiar call-and-response “Omajinai Time” further heightened the sense of unity and voltage in the venue, before moving on to “Unleash!!!!!” The floor ran through the last spurt at full speed with “HGK,” “Influencer,” “Magie,” and “NO GOD,” and at the end the floor responded with loud cheers to SAIKI’s voice, “Wasn’t your maid’s day the best?” At the very end, Miku Kobato shouted with a smile the familiar phrase, “Welcome, Master/Lady! It’s BAND-MAID!” and “BAND-MAID THE DAY OF MAID” was a great success. The curtain was closed.

In addition to “BAND-MAID × The Warning SPECIAL SHOW IN JAPAN” and the first hall tour “BAND-MAID HALL TOUR 2024” which were announced at the MC, “RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL” and “SUMMER SONIC 2024” BAND-MAID is scheduled to perform at festivals from June onwards.
