The “NX” in the division’s name stands for “New eXperience,” and the “X” also stands for “eXperimental,” showing that the engineers themselves are proactively taking on the challenge of new development experiences.

■ Title: “Chameleon Notes”

This is an experiential piece where you line up emo blocks (emoticon blocks that express emotions) and a music generation AI automatically generates a 30-second piece of music that matches the emotion you selected. It is said that chameleons change the color of their bodies depending on their emotions, and with “Chameleon Notes” you can enjoy a new musical experience by freely creating music to match your emotions.

When a song is played, the AI-generated “title” and “cover image” are displayed on the screen, and a 3DCG RecoChoku character, “RecoChoku Kuma,” dances along to the song. The generated song can be downloaded by scanning the displayed QR code.

・Technology used: Music generation AI (MusicGen), generative AI (RecoChat, OpenAI Assistants API), Arduino (M5Stack), RFID, 3D rendering (Unity), 3D modeling (Fusion 360, Blender, Nomad Sculpt), 3D printers

If you are attending “Maker Faire Tokyo 2024,” please stop by the “New Music Experience Laboratory” booth and enjoy a new music experience.

Recochoku currently offers music distribution services, solutions for music rights holders, and services using web3-related technologies such as NFT. In addition, in 2023, the company launched the “With AI Project” and built “RecoChat,” which can use ChatGPT to improve business productivity, and began operating it throughout the company. In the production of this work, in addition to “RecoChat,” generative AI and plugin functions such as GitHub Copilot for Business were used to realize writing, research and analysis, idea planning, coding, horizontal deployment of business knowledge, and revitalization of internal communication.
