“So Fabulous Concert” National Tour Wraps Up in Osaka

The talk of the town, pianist “Ryo Gojoin” (Gojoin Ryo), who kicked off his 13-show national tour “So Fabulous Concert” in Osaka this March, circled back to close the tour on December 1st (Friday) at Sunkei Hall Breeze in Osaka. The performance was once again delivered in his now-familiar two-part format.

Centered around his original album “Fabulous” and cover album “Oai Collection”, the setlist varied from avant-garde keyboard rhythms to intimate, live piano performances, crafting moments of deep connection.

In the encore, Ryo, with just his piano, played “Memory of Love” and “Rose Waltz”, and expressed a desire to hold a no-PA, piano-only recital concert next year.

As Ryo was about to leave the stage amid thunderous applause, the audience called for another encore. Stopping in his tracks, various song titles echoed from the seats. Returning to the piano, Ryo spontaneously performed a medley of “Shipwreck” ~ “Cosmos” ~ “SWEET MEMORIES” ~ “Idol” ~ “Roses Die Beautifully”, surprising everyone and enveloping the venue in roaring applause. With the unending clapping behind him, Ryo Gojoin exited the stage.

With several dates already announced for next year, keep an eye out for his new format of live piano concerts coming soon.

Ryo Gojoin’s piano performances transcend original and cover songs alike, wrapping listeners in his luxurious style and elevating them to a unique musical world. The only remaining concert this year is the “So Fabulous Concert 2023 – O Merry O Christmas” special Christmas event at Narita International Culture Hall on December 24th (Sunday), definitely worth the trip.
