“Usupperai” portrays the protagonist sinking into the mire of being a convenient woman, delving into a shallow love that she knows won’t come to fruition. This track showcases Kadowaki’s venture into rap, marking a new milestone in her vocal performance.

The music video, directed by up-and-coming director Nesu and starring influencer Hagumi, captures the protagonist’s gradual descent. It’s a compelling visual narrative that aligns seamlessly with the song’s progression.

In celebration of the release, a special YouTube Live event for Sarasa Kadowaki’s “Usupperai” is scheduled to take place at 9 PM JST on February 10th. Although the talk will be in Japanese, the event promises an enjoyable lineup, including an acoustic performance of “Usupperai,” appealing to a wide audience.

Sarasa Kadowaki Comments

For the production of “Usupperai,” Saeki youthK was deeply involved. I believe this song, with its mix of English lyrics and rap parts, will serve as an opportunity for everyone to hear a different side of me!

I faced challenges with the English pronunciation and rhythm during recording. It’s a new frontier for me… Exciting!

The concept of “falling deeply for someone” is something I often see on social media, so I’d be thrilled if people could relate to “Usupperai,” which has a bit of a dark yet pop vibe. NUMA! NUMA! LOL

Her musical journey took a significant turn in 2012, during her second year of middle school, when she purchased her first CD, Taylor Swift’s “”You Belong With Me.”” This sparked her interest in Western music, leading her to delve into the works of artists like Avril Lavigne and Justin Bieber, from whom she drew considerable influence in melody and lyrics.

In the summer of 2015, as a first-year high school student, Kadowaki began performing live shows in the Kansai region and sharing her music on social media, marking the start of her formal music career. By her second year of high school, she expanded her activities to include live performances in Tokyo and began street performances in places like Kawanishi Noseguchi and Osaka.

On August 6, 2017, Kadowaki won the grand prize at the “”Inoue Summer Festival 2017 Performance Contest,”” earning the opportunity to perform at an outdoor live event.

In September 2018, at the age of 19, she released her album “”Ame no Ato”” and successfully held her first solo live show at Kobe VARIT.

Turning 20 in 2019, she moved her base of operations to Tokyo and was chosen in April to perform in the RISSHI commercial “”Dreams Never End 2020 Edition,”” marking her first foray into commercial singing.

On March 3, 2021, Kadowaki made her major debut with the digital single “”Torihada”” under Victor Entertainment/Victor Records. In April, she landed significant tie-ups with her songs being featured as the ending theme for the TV Tokyo series “”Yurucamp△2″” with “”Wasuremono o Shinai You ni”” and the ending theme for the TV anime “”Cestus: The Roman Fighter”” with “”Kireida.””
