SIX LOUNGE has announced their upcoming tour in June, “SIX LOUNGE TOUR 2024 ‘Blooming Flowers’.” Kicking off in Sapporo, Hokkaido, the tour will travel through Nagano, Aichi, and Osaka. In the latter half of the tour, they will perform for the first time in a hall at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA and in their hometown at J:COM Horuto Hall Oita. Additionally, starting next month, the band is set to embark on their first-ever acoustic nationwide tour, [SIX LOUNGE “ACOUSTIC” TOUR].
Furthermore, a one-camera live video of SIX LOUNGE’s song “Kitakaze” has been released on the new music video content “FLOOR LIVE-SHOW CASE EDITION-” by “THE FIRST TAKE,” featured on their platform “THE FIRST TIMES.”
“Kitakaze” is the ending theme for the second cour of the sixth season of the TV anime “My Hero Academia.” It’s a fast-paced rock number that showcases not only the vocal power but also the individual playing skills of the band members.
Jun Miura’s Comments
Let me give you a sneak peek into the highlights and behind-the-scenes of our latest track “Kitakaze.” When SIX LOUNGE was chosen as the first guest for FLOOR LIVE, we suggested several songs for performance. The ones that came back from the artist side as “streaming track candidates” were “Kitakaze” and “Rika.”
While prepping for the September recording, my head was all, “Let’s kick off the live and streaming with a bang starting with ‘Kitakaze’!” But around that time, “Rika” was starting to buzz, so the vibe shifted to, “For a new content, it’s better to start streaming with the more well-known ‘Rika,'” leading to a change in the order of songs for the live and stream (the live started with “Kitakaze,” followed by a service song, then “Rika”).
We’ve been meticulous about every detail of this content, but we really experimented with the “First Cut” visuals. We started the “one-camera show” with the first cut, where the camera, removed from its tripod by the cameraman, dives into the audience while filming the artist heading to the stage, and then the live kicks off.
This “Kitakaze” starts with the members’ entrance onto the stage, so you can really feel the excitement in the venue before the live starts. Plus, the concept of “performing in the middle of the floor surrounded by fans” and “recording with just one camera” becomes crystal clear.
“Kitakaze,” being a more fast-paced and energetic song compared to “Rika,” conveys the live house vibe more vividly through camera work and audience’s reactions. So, enjoy it thoroughly from start to finish!
Also, as I mentioned earlier, we performed “Trash” as a service song at the venue. There were two purposes for doing the service song. One was to perform it as a true “service” to thank the fans who came to the venue, regardless of whether it was streamed or not. The other was for still photography of the live.
We had the still photographer, Ruriko Inagaki, positioned right in the middle of the floor, close to the movie cameraman’s spot, to capture the artist’s live performance up-close. These cool still photos haven’t been released yet as we don’t have official SNS, but I can’t wait for you to see them.
By the way, during the service song, SIX LOUNGE suddenly started playing “Piercing,” which wasn’t planned! After performing “Trash,” they were like, “We’ve still got time, how about one more?” and played “Piercing” again, pumping up the crowd.
That surprise and spirit of service is what makes a live band so appealing, and why everyone loves SIX LOUNGE. I was grinning and pumping my fist in the crowd, thoroughly enjoying the show.
