≒JOY (Nearly Equal Joy) is the “third group” following the idol groups =LOVE (Equal Love) and ≠ME (Not Equal Me) produced by Rino Sashihara. The first single “Gym Disco” released yesterday won 86,878 points on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking on June 11, 2024, and won the first place with a total of over 130,000 copies shipped. Today, a live broadcast special program “Near Joy 1st Single Release Commemorative Broadcast! ~ Summer is Here! Near Joy Hot Party ~” was broadcast to commemorate the release of the first single “Gym Disco”.
During the live broadcast special, viewers were flooded with congratulatory comments for ≒JOY, who had achieved the top spot on the Oricon Daily Single Rankings, and a segment was organised to get the members in the mood for summer, titled “Summer is Here! Seniors vs. Underclassmen! ≒JOY’s Hot Battle!!”, in which the members were divided into two teams, the “Senior Team” and the “Underclassmen Team”, and competed in three segments for prizes: “Please Support Us! An Appealing Line Battle!”, in reference to the “dialogue scene”, one of the highlights of the “Gymnasium Disco” music video, in which they appealed for their team with lines; “Aim for the High Score!! The Hot Quotation Challenge!”, in which they had a quoit toss battle using a quoit toss stall set; and “Quick Shaving & Speed Eating! Ice-Cold Shaved Ice Challenge!”, in which they competed to see who could shave and eat a cup of shaved ice the fastest.
Furthermore, in the second half of the special program, titled “A thorough explanation of the ‘Gym Disco’ Music Video!!”, while watching the music video for their new song “Gym Disco”, each member shared behind-the-scenes stories that only they would know and the points they want fans to see. This special project only available for a special program made the live broadcast very exciting.
Furthermore, just before the program ended, there was a surprise announcement of the ≒JOY Hall Tour 2024. The tour will visit four cities, and details of the tour and ticket information will be announced at a later date, so please look forward to the next update.

This is the third group formed by Rino Sashihara to produce her ideal idol, following =LOVE and ≠ME. The final audition was held on January 30, 2022, and on March 29, 2022, the members were unveiled and producer Rino Sashihara herself announced that the group would be named “≒JOY”. On September 3 last year, the ≒JOY 1st concert “Nice to meet you, we are ≒JOY” was held at the National Hall of Pacifico Yokohama, and from the end of last year to the beginning of this year, the first tour ≒JOY 1st Tour “Absolute” was held and was a great success. The debut mini album “Kitto, Zettai, Zettai” was released on Wednesday, January 17th. (They debuted at number one on both the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and Billboard JAPAN Top Albums Sales. They shipped over 100,000 copies on the first day of release.) On February 24th of this year, they held the ≒JOY 2nd ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT, which attracted an audience of about 8,000 people at Tokyo International Forum Hall A to celebrate their second anniversary. On June 12th (Wednesday), they released their long-awaited first single, “Taiikukan Disco.” The name ≒JOY is filled with Rino Sashihara’s wish that “when the members meet the fans who support them, they will feel joy and happiness.”
