Global boy band “NEXZ” will perform for the first time on a Japanese TV music program at “THE MUSIC DAY 2024”!

“NEXZ” is a global boy band born from the Japan-Korea joint audition project “Nizi Project Season 2” by JYP and Sony Music.

On May 20th, shortly after making their long-awaited global debut, NEXZ’s first Korean release, “Ride the Vibe,” reached No. 1 on the daily Physical Album Chart and No. 3 on the weekly chart on Korea’s Hanteo Chart.

The music video for their debut song “Ride the Vibe” is a youth ensemble drama that only a band with an average age of 17.4 could express. The emotional visual world, reminiscent of a short film, attracted a lot of attention, achieving over 10 million views on YouTube within three days of its release, and has currently surpassed 31 million views.

And the currently much talked about NEXZ will finally be making their Japan debut on Wednesday, August 21st with their first Japan EP, “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving.”

And there was some more good news from them.

It has now been decided that this will be their first ever performance on a Japanese TV music program.

They will be appearing on the large-scale music special “THE MUSIC DAY 2024,” which will be broadcast live on Nippon Television from 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6th.

This year’s theme is “surprise.”

NEXZ’s first appearance on a Japanese TV music program was quite a surprise in itself.

On June 14th, they appeared live in the studio on the same Nippon Television information program “DayDay.”, which has been covering “Nizi Project Season 2” for half a year since July of last year, to announce their “Japanese debut”. It is still fresh in their memory that they sang their global debut song “Ride the Vibe” for the first time on Japanese TV.

Viewers were touched by his attempt to sing in Korean in order to show off the results of his training under JY Park in Korea.

The songs they will be singing at “THE MUSIC DAY 2024” have not yet been announced, but what kind of performance can we expect?

Don’t miss the live broadcast on Saturday, July 6th.

However, there’s still other good news.

While “NYLON JAPAN,” which was released on June 28th and featured NEXZ on the cover wearing Louis Vuitton for the first time, has been met with great acclaim, a collaboration with DIOR x SPUR has now been realized.

She will be featured on the cover of the special edition of SPUR’s September issue, which goes on sale on Tuesday, July 23rd, with the headline “Portraying the next generation of beauty with DIOR.”

This new collaboration of beauty between NEXZ and DIOR is sure to attract public attention.

We hope you will look forward to it.

Furthermore, in light of their upcoming Japanese debut in August and their visit to the SHOWCASE, Fukuoka prefecture has decided to hold a joint campaign with Fukuoka PARCO and Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin stores.

This campaign will be carried out in two stages: VOL.1 at Fukuoka PARCO (July 1st to July 17th), and VOL.2 at Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store (July 18th to August 5th).

A variety of events will be held, including a random sticker given on a first-come, first-served basis to customers who spend over 2,000 yen (tax included), exclusive in-house announcements with comments from the members, and a mini panel exhibition including never-before-seen photos.

The Fukuoka area will be the first to implement the campaign, as NEXZ’s leader TOMOYA and YU, who is also known as the “national treasure of faces,” are from Fukuoka prefecture.

First of all, why not head over to Fukuoka PARCO where VOL.1 will be held on Monday, July 1st?

With their Japan debut approaching, NEXZ is constantly creating buzz.

It seems that they are all set to make their Japanese debut on Wednesday, August 21st with their first EP, “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving.”

[NEXZ (pronounced: Nexji)]

A global boy group consisting of TOMOYA, YU, HARU, SO GEON, SEITA, HYUI and YUKI.

The group was born from JYP and Sony Music’s joint Japanese-Korean audition project “Nizi Project Season 2.”

NEXZ stands for “Next Z(G)eneration.”

The name is named after the letters “N” and “Z” as proof that it was born from “Nizi Project,” and it conveys the message that members who will lead the next generation have come together to deliver new music and performances and usher in a new era.

When announcing the group’s name, JY Park told the members, “We named you this with the hope that you will pave the way for the future together with the new generation.”

On December 18, 2023, “Miracle”, written and composed by JY Park, which was performed at the final stage of the audition, will be released as a pre-release song.

On May 20, 2024, they will make their global debut with their first Korean single album, “Ride the Vibe.”

Then, on Wednesday, August 21st, they will make their long-awaited “Japan debut” with their first Japan EP, “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving.”

What is “Nizi Project”?

A joint Japanese-Korean audition project by JYP and Sony Music.

For this project, JYP and Sony Music will jointly handle everything from holding global auditions to casting the members, training, planning, production, and management.

“Nizi Project Season 1” produced NiziU, who appeared on the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen for four consecutive years, won the Japan Record Award for three consecutive years, and performed at the two major domes, Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome, the fastest in history for a female artist. On October 30, 2023, they made their long-awaited Korean debut, winning first place on a local music program and attracting a lot of attention, becoming a national girl group in both name and reality.

Leveraging this track record, “Nizi Project Season 2” aims to create a global boy group. Regional auditions were held in 11 locations, including eight cities in Japan, Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul, South Korea, from mid-March to early May 2022, with more than 10,000 applicants participating.

After going through a process of regional auditions ⇒ training camp in Japan ⇒ training camp in Korea, the global boy band “NEXZ” was born.
