The real identities of GEMN, who sing the opening theme song “Fatale” of the second season of the TV anime “Oshi no Ko”, are Nakajima Kento and Kitani Tatsuya.

It has been announced that the artists performing the opening theme song for the second season of the TV anime series Oshi no Ko, which will begin airing on July 3rd (Wednesday), GEMN (pronounced Gem), are Nakajima Kento and Kitani Tatsuya. This was revealed at a preview event for the first episode of the second season of the TV anime series Oshi no Ko, held today.

GEMN’s artist photo has been released, and it has been announced that “Fatal” will be released in advance on Thursday, July 4th.

After the first main promotional video for the second season of the TV anime series Oshi no Ko, in which “Fatale” is used, was released, GEMN’s mysterious official website was launched, which only displayed a number of countdowns, and new information was released every week, including lyrics images for the TV version of “Fatale” and liner notes by Oshi no Ko’s original authors Akasaka Aka and Yokoyari Mengo. As users speculated about who GEMN really was, the identity was finally revealed.

Currently, liner notes and other materials that were previously hidden on the GEMN official website have been released with the names revealed.

Kento Nakajima Liner Notes

“Fatal” is “a man who longed for the light”

A Tale of Shadows, I think.

The day I met my “idol” and my “oshi no ko”.

Ever since I was a child, I have longed for someone.

To me, who still thinks “I want to be number one”

Ai taught me perfection and the ultimate.

Right after various decisions were made

Suddenly, this opportunity came to me.

After cherishing the words Ai had given me and continuing to run as an “idol,” I came across this stage.

When Kitani Tatsuya and I shared our life histories, we found that there were many areas where we resonated.

We are proud that we were able to create this song together and that “GEMN” was born.

“Fatal” is also a song about Aqua and friends.

It’s also a song for us, GEMN.

Just believing in one “I”

Just knowing that I have someone believe in me makes me feel like I can move forward even more powerfully.

This summer, I want to give you a fateful love.

The perfect and ultimate eye.

Kitani Tatsuya Liner Notes

They have some kind of “fatal lack within themselves” – such as the experience of loss, an excessive hunger for recognition, or a tendency to depend on specific things outside of themselves – and they have chosen the path of “creating things and experiences and presenting them in front of people” in order to utilize this lack and turn it into energy for self-actualization.

This is a distortion that Aqua and Ruby, the actors and creators who perform on stage, the two of us who call ourselves GEMN, and probably even Hoshino Ai all share, but[Oshi no Ko]taught me that this very distortion is the source of their brilliance.

I wrote “Fatale” as a love song to the things that made my life crazy. I hope you enjoy it!
