The music video for “Zettai Idol Quit” (Don’t Quit Being an Idol), the title track of =LOVE’s long-awaited 17th single, which will be released on Wednesday, July 31st, was recently released and surpassed 1 million views in 24 hours, the fastest in their history (ranking first on YouTube’s “Trending Videos” and fourth in Japan’s “Rapidly Rising Music”), and has been viewed a total of 5 million times in just 11 days since its release. The momentum of =LOVE, the idol group produced by Rino Sashihara, is unstoppable.
While the topic is still going strong, with “Zettai Idol Ni Naide” taking the top spot on the daily song TOP100 on the music distribution service “LINE MUSIC” and the number of daily song plays on TikTok reaching a record high of 10 million (according to our research), a special live concert was held yesterday at Theater H (Tokyo) in collaboration with Sanrio to commemorate the release of the 16th single “Norotte Norotte”. (The 16th single “Norotte Norotte” was released in March, and since the debut single, they have achieved the feat of having 16 consecutive releases in the TOP10 of the Oricon weekly single rankings.)
This event was open to those who purchased their 16th single “Noroi, Noroi”, and only lucky users selected by lottery were able to participate. It was a very premium event where they could experience =LOVE’s performance up close, and a total of 7 shows were held at 4 venues, including the Nagoya show at Design Hall on Sunday, April 21st, the Tokyo show at Yamano Hall on Saturday, May 11th, and the Osaka show at Panasonic IMP Hall on Sunday, May 26th.
Yesterday’s Sanrio Special Live was held for lucky fans who won the lottery. They performed a total of 10 songs, including three from their 16th single, “Noroshitte Noroshitte,” “Without Anyone Knowing,” and “Kimi no Daisan Button.” Cinnamoroll appeared during “I Thought Our Eyes Wouldn’t Meet During Club Activities,” and performed a collaboration with “Want you! Want you!” for a total of two songs. The cute and premium performance with =LOVE members and Cinnamoroll got the crowd really excited.
During the MC talk, they talked about the memories of the special event to celebrate the release of their 16th single “Norotte Norotte”, their impressions of the collaboration performance with Cinnamoroll, their enthusiasm for the 7th anniversary concert to be held in September, and other topics that can only be found at a special live event. Why not apply for the next opportunity to participate in this precious special live event?
