≒JOY (nearly equals Joy) is the “third group” that follows the idol group LOVE (Equal Love) and ≠ME (Note Equal Me), produced by Sashihara Rino.
Their second single, “Hatsukoi Cinderella,” released in October last year, first appeared in both the Oricon weekly singles rankings and Billboard JAPAN Top Singles Sales, and after their first single, “Gymnasium Disco” (released in June 2024), they achieved the feat of being the first sex artist to win the No. 1 spot for the second consecutive year and six months, and while the talks remained unabated, they held the ≒JOY 3rd Anniversary concert “≒JOY 3rd ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT” at Tokyo Gymnasium to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of their formation. Since its unveiling in March 2022, it has attracted approximately 12,000 people, including two performances day and night.
In this article, we will report on the evening performance.
This performance, which was held to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the formation, set in “HOTEL GRAND TIARA”, and members invited to a hotel party performed in a variety of performances in line with the orders given one after another. At the beginning of the concert, the audience turned off the lights after the announcement before the show began, and the venue was enveloped in darkness. Then, JOY, wearing a maid uniform with a flashlight in her hand, appeared in the audience aisle of the arena and bravely sang the rock number “Super Solitary Lion” at close range by the audience, which spread excitement throughout the venue.
After that, the members continued to perform aggressive performances without even taking a breather, firing smoke with a CO2 gun and delivering powerful singing voices while celebrating the realistic expressions. In “Sweet Sixteen,” some of the lyrics were arranged with the phrase “Today is JOY’s 3rd anniversary concert!”, and a golden tape danced in the arena, making it a glamorous mood that celebrates JOY’s 3rd anniversary.
After interlude footage, ≒JOY changed to a cute outfit. =They perform sweet love songs from senior groups such as LOVE “Love YOU♡”, “Shukipi”, and ≠ME “Marshmallow Float”, sometimes with lovely lines. In “Dreamy♡ Idol,” Pom Pompurin appeared on stage and performed a dance that was in harmony with the members. Many audiences were captivated by the adorable sight.
The second half of the concert started with the Gymnasium Disco, an upper tune that is perfect for a concert at Tokyo Gymnasium. The dazzling light from the mirror ball transformed the Tokyo Gymnasium into a disco full of excitement. ≒JOY accelerated the concert’s excitement while still maintaining momentum, and in “Laughing Frazil,” she rode the trolley around the venue, delivering smiles and singing throughout the venue. In the song “Ozora, Byunto,” the handwritten message from each member is reflected in the LED vision, further strengthening the bonds with the fans. When the group’s first love song, “Hatsukoi Cinderella,” released last October, began the title song of their second single, “Hatsukoi Cinderella,” a giant tiara-shaped lighting device appeared, and the members sing and dancing on the center stage were vividly illuminated.
In the following MC, Ekaku Reon looks back on the three years since its formation, and asks, “I believe that JOY is a group that will definitely grow bigger, and we will definitely show you a more wonderful stage, so will you stay with JOY forever?” With those words as a signal, the first Song “≒JOY” was performed, and a large amount of confetti poured down on stage. In the video, which was shown at the end of the main concert, it was revealed in the interlude that the masked figure who had issued an order to JOY was the future members themselves.
Even during the encore, the members on stage were cheered as much as they could. As the excitement in the venue continued to rise, the final number of the ≒JOY 3rd Anniversary concert, “JOY 3rd ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT” was performed by the kind-hearted cheering song “Nebagiba! Live.’ The audience also let out a sung voice that was pushing their own backs.
After the performance, a special video was also shown on the screen, and when it was announced that the third single would be released on June 11th, visitors were cheered, and the concert ended.

This is the third group following LOVE and ME (not equal me), which was formed by Sashihara Rino to produce her ideal idol. On January 30th, 2022, the final audition was held, and on March 29th, 2022, along with the members unveiling, producer Sashihara Rino herself announced that the group name would be ≒JOY.
