It has been decided that Kitani Tatsuya has written a new song, “Katsuya Mono,” as the theme song for the film “Defamation: The Man Called a Murder Teacher,” which will be released nationwide on Friday, June 27th.

Regarding the new song “Rakushimono,” Ayano Go, who stars in the film, commented, “Kitani-san has taken a very sincere attitude towards this work, and I thought (this song) is “the last and greatest co-star.” The lyrics are scattered in a good way, and I felt like they were inevitably moving forward. I think that this may be something that all Yabushita, Ritsuko and all of those living in that world have in common. I’m truly grateful to be able to feel the music in such a deeper detail.” Co-star Shibasaki Kou said, “It reminded me of the uneasy parts of humanity. It was assimilated with the film, and I thought it was a perfect ending song.”

The film “Decomposed: The Man Called a Murder Teacher” is a film adaptation of Fukuda Masumi’s reportage, “Decomposed: The Truth About the “Murder Teacher” Incident” (published by Shincho Bunko), which won the 6th Shincho Documentary Award. Ayano Go plays the main character, Yabushita Seiichi. “Yakuza and Family” (2021), “Let’s go to Karaoke! He has appeared in a series of highly acclaimed works both domestically and internationally, such as “The Groundmakers,” and in 2024 he has been at the forefront, causing social phenomena with the Netflix series “The Groundmakers.” The director is Miike Takashi. Needless to say, he has been active in films such as “The Literature of Evil” (2012), “First Love” (2020), and “The Monster Lumberjack” (2023), but in 2025 he continued to expand his vigorously active role, directing the TV drama “New Breaking Shogun.” The cast will also feature a gorgeous cast including Shibasaki Kou, Kamenashi Kazuya, Kimura Fumino, Mitsuishi Ken, Kitamura Kazuki, and Kobayashi Kaoru.

He began posting songs online around 2014, and at the same time he began his career as a writer who provided songs to other artists.
In 2023, he released the opening theme for the TV anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “Blue no Sumika” and participated in the 74th Kohaku Uta Gassen. He has provided music to numerous artists including WEST., Hoshigai Suisei, SUPER EIGHT, and LiSA, and has continued to be active across genres, including Nippon Broadcasting System’s “Kitani Tatsuya’s All Night Nippon X (Cross)” launched in April 2024, and has been active as a unit called “GEMN” with Nakajima Kento.
