Sony Music Labels Inc. has acquired all rights to the world’s popular content, “Spookiz” (pronounced by Spookiz) and will develop the character business.
This will be the first time that Sony Music Labels, which is primarily based in the music business, has acquired character and animation content.

“Spookiz” is a 3DCG animation with fans all over the world. The YouTube account, which is the basis for the presentation of the work, boasts a total of 6.09 million subscribers (as of June 11th), and total views exceed 3.1 billion (as of June 11th). As a non-verbal, 1-3 minute short animation with no lines, it is currently extremely popular all over the world, mainly in the United States, Asia, such as the Philippines, Singapore, India, and Japan, Latin America, Brazil, Mexico, and Europe, such as the UK. Furthermore, the previously announced content has not only been released with 280 million views on YouTube (as of June 11th), but the video series produced based on songs has exceeded 310 million views on YouTube (as of June 11th), making it a highly compatible content with music. As a new attempt by Sony Music Labels, which leads Japan’s music business, we acquire character content and aim to develop a unique development by making full use of the know-how cultivated in the music business.
And Spookiz will be creating a new story this year and launching a new season. We will develop the story and begin new characters, aiming to create content that is supported by a wider age group.
