On Sunday 4th May, duo unit ClariS performed at their first overseas live event in seven years (their first time performing overseas without makeup) and captivated many overseas fans at the “AFA ID X SACRA MUSIC FES.” held in Indonesia.
On May 8th (Wednesday), they released their 28th single “Andante” (the ending theme for the TV anime “Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf”), followed by their long-awaited 7th album “Iris” on May 22nd (Wednesday). That weekend, they kicked off their first live tour in about 4 and a half years, “ClariS SPRING TOUR 2024 ~Tinctura~”, and today the final show of the tour was held at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL.
“ClariS SPRING TOUR 2024 ~Tinctura~” will see the Osaka performance at Zepp Osaka Bayside on Saturday, May 25th, the first-ever Hiroshima performance at Hiroshima Club Quattro on Sunday, May 26th, and Tokyo performances at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL for two days (4 performances) on Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd, making it a live tour of 6 performances in total at 3 venues, mixing live house and hall venues.
In this article, we will be bringing you a live report from the Tokyo evening performance, which was the final show of the tour and took place today.
When Clara and Karen started the live with the pop tune “reunion,” the venue was lit up in pastel pink and pastel green all the way up to the third floor. The band members who produce the fast-paced sound were introduced for the second song “Hitorigoto,” and four dancers danced in sync with ClariS’s movements for their latest heartfelt single “Andante,” released in May. When the light-hearted love song “Love is Mystery,” the lead song from their seventh album “Iris,” began, the audience was bathed in pink light.
Next, ClariS sang “Gitai”, a B-side song of the single “Andante”, and “Freaky Candy”, a track from their 7th album. After a string of songs with a strong worldview and high addictiveness, they performed a medley of songs that evoke the image of spring, including “Sakura Incarnation”, a track from “Andante”, and enveloped the audience in a gorgeous mood.
In the middle of the concert, Clara and Karen tried something new by singing solo versions of previous single title songs, “Colorful” and “Anemone.” During “Mirai Kouro,” one of the new songs from their latest album, they enthusiastically waved towels together with the audience. They also performed new songs with a mellow atmosphere, “Morning Glory” and “Ichigo Ichie,” and the entire venue was enthralled by the two’s emotional singing voices. As the concert unfolded with a variety of tempos, glittering silver streamers were shot towards the floor during their signature song, “Connect.”
During the encore, Karen looked back on the tour, commenting, “I think there were scenes and moments that could only have been created through this tour.” Clara also spoke of how fulfilling the tour was, saying, “I felt that this is why I sing.” Then, in reference to the album title “Iris,” which means “rainbow” in Greek, the audience created a rainbow gradient in the auditorium with the light of their penlights, and they sang “second story” as the last number, receiving cheers and applause, and “ClariS SPRING TOUR 2024 ~Tinctura~” came to a close.

In October 2010, they released their debut single “irony” (the opening theme for the TV anime “My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute”). Since then, they have been active, releasing 28 singles, 3 mini-albums, 7 original albums, and a best album. On October 20, 2020, they celebrated the 10th anniversary of their major debut, and caused a big stir when the mysterious ClariS revealed their true faces in their first live stream in their career. In October of the same year, they simultaneously released two best albums to commemorate their 10th anniversary, “ClariS 10th Anniversary BEST.”
