An idol group produced by Rino Sashihara called JOY (Nearly Equal Joy).
With the release of their long-awaited first single “Gym Disco” scheduled for next week on Wednesday, June 12th, the music video that was released in advance has already surpassed 1.8 million views. Featuring Esumi Reon at the center, this up-tempo youth song is sure to make everyone happy as they dance to the gym disco. Meanwhile, the music video for “Yume Miru ♡ Idol,” a new song from the first single, was released today.
The new song, “Yume Miru ♡ Idol,” was composed and arranged by hit-maker Tsukada Kohei, who has also composed =LOVE’s popular songs such as “Seishun “Subliminal,”,” “Summer Festival Love Affair,” “This Sky is a Trigger,” and “Last Note Shika Shiranai.” With Amano Kanoe at the center, the song is a cute and sparkling idol song filled with straightforward love connected by the red thread of fate.
The music video tells a story about the bonds between the members that are tied together by the “red thread,” as well as the bonds between important people. Be sure to check out the cute red and white uniform costumes and the lovely and powerful dance performance in front of the merry-go-round.
On the weekend of the release of the first single, 6/15 (Sat), a special release event will be held to celebrate the release of ≒JOY’s first single, “Gyakukan Disco.”“It has also been announced that the concert will be held at Stella Town Omiya 1F outdoor Merope Square. This extremely rare event will be free to view, so please check the information about the farewell party and come along to participate. It has also been announced that a joint concert by the three groups =LOVE, ≠ME, and ≒JOY, called “Ikonoi Joy 2024,” will be held at Fuji-Q Highland Conifer Forest on Saturday, September 28th. This is the third group formed by Rino Sashihara to produce her ideal idol, following =LOVE and ≠ME. The final audition was held on January 30, 2022, and on March 29, 2022, the members were unveiled and producer Rino Sashihara herself announced that the group would be named “≒JOY”. On September 3 last year, the ≒JOY 1st concert “Nice to meet you, we are ≒JOY” was held at the National Hall of Pacifico Yokohama, and from the end of last year to the beginning of this year, the first tour ≒JOY 1st Tour “Absolute” was held and was a great success. On Wednesday, January 17, the debut mini album “Kitto, Zettai, Zettai” was released. (The album debuted at number one on both the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and Billboard JAPAN Top Albums Sales. Cumulative shipments exceeded 100,000 copies on the first day of release.) On February 24th of this year, the ≒JOY 2nd ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT was held at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A, attracting an audience of approximately 8,000 people, to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the band’s formation. The long-awaited 1st single, “Gyakukan Disco,” is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, June 12th. The name ≒JOY is filled with Rino Sashihara’s wish that “the members and the fans who support them will feel joy and happiness when they meet.”
