The PV for the TV anime “Senpai wa Otokonoko”, for which Kujira will be in charge of both the opening and ending songs, has been released, showing both songs for the first time! It has been revealed that the feat artist for the ending song is “Nishina”!

Kujira, a new generation creator who is attracting attention not only from the music scene but from all over the world, has announced that the ending theme for the TV anime “Senpai wa Otoko no Ko”, which is his first tie-up in his career and for which he is in charge of both the opening and ending theme songs, will be “Are ga Koi Datta Kana feat. Nishina” featuring Nishina on vocals.

It was announced that for their first tie-up, Kujira will be responsible for the unusual opening and ending double theme songs.

The only information revealed about the ending theme was the title and that someone would feature as a guest vocalist.

This is Kujira and Nishina’s first collaboration since working together on “Transparent Black and Iron Red,” which was included on Nishina’s album “Odds and Ends” released in 2021.

“Senpai wa Otoko no Ko” won third place in the Web Manga category of the “Next Manga Awards 2021” and first place in the “5th Manga Ranking for Manga to be Animated,” and is a hugely popular work that has been distributed in countries around the world and has exceeded 180 million cumulative views in Japan on “LINE Manga” (as of January 2024). It has been announced that the first animated TV anime “Senpai wa Otoko no Ko” will be broadcast on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” and other stations from Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Comments from both Kujira and Nishina have also been released.

Whale Comments

“Wagamama” is filled with the idea that “living selfishly is a good thing.”

I think that the more difficult it is for people to live in this society, the more they are trapped by common sense and stereotypes such as “You shouldn’t be selfish” and “Being selfish is a nuisance.” So what exactly is the true nature of “selfishness”? I wrote this song hoping to discuss this question.

This is a song that tells people to cherish the feelings of “No matter what anyone says, this is what I like! This is what I want to do! This is the kind of person I want to become!”

“I wonder if that was love” is a response to the question, “What is love?”, in my own life.

I’ve listed what I think might be the answer.

I’ve managed to pack everything I wanted to say into the song, so I just want you to listen to it.

Nishina Comment

When I was invited by Kujira-kun to listen to his demo,

I remember being so moved by the wonderful music.

It’s eternal and yet it seems to pass in an instant

Sweet and bittersweet

It seems like it’s in everyone’s heart, like a memory that only belongs to them

I think it’s a song that’s packed full of precious moments.

I hope it will be a song that combines lightness and a languid drowsiness.

I had the opportunity to sing it.

The part where I was laughing and talking was difficult, so I had to re-record it many times.

I hope you enjoy the slightly embarrassed tone of the dialogue.

Started activities on April 1, 2019.

Kujira writes all of his lyrics, composes and arranges music himself, and continues to actively release works using VOCALOID, works featuring vocals by yama and Ado, and other artists, as well as providing his own songs.

In July 2019, he released the VOCALOID album “Nemurumachi”. In October 2020, he released the album “Nemurenai Yoru ni Kurtain wo Akete” featuring feat. and VOCALOID.

Starting with the work “Akusha,” which was a collaboration with various stories such as novels and films, he released songs that he sang himself.

In August 2022, she will release her first album, “Until I Can Love Life,” in which she sings all the songs herself, and on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, she will release her second album, “Vegetable Room.”

Their solo concerts at venues such as Shibuya WWW X and Shibuya Spotify O-WEST have sold out one after another.

On May 5th, 2024, they will make their first festival appearance at VIVA LA ROCK 2024, and on Sunday October 12th, they will hold their 4th solo concert, which will be their largest ever, at Zepp Shinjuku in Tokyo.

Requests to provide songs have continued to come in, and starting with yama’s first original song “Haru wo Tsugeru,” he has demonstrated his creativity regardless of the scene, including for DISH//, SixTONES, Ado, and others.

He is attracting a lot of attention in the music scene as a new generation creator.

In this new era, a rising star has emerged with a natural singing voice: Nishina.

A gentle, ephemeral and addictive voice.

A nostalgic, soothing melody line.

A sense of words woven delicately together with innocent playfulness.

Her music is calm yet exudes a hidden madness that completely captivates those who listen to it.

Selected for Spotify’s “RADAR: Early Noise” program, which supports the next generation of artists to watch that year.

Her voice and music, which have slowly and leisurely captivated listeners, have now quietly and more proactively begun to move forward in the world, seeking new encounters.

An important newcomer, a talent that embodies “transience and madness” has appeared here.
