Karin, who has a total of 320,000 followers on social media and whose first song has been played 10 million times on subscription services, will release a new song, “Hana ni Mio,” next week in collaboration with illustrator Orie, who also works as a painter and teddy bear artist!

Sony Music Entertainment Inc. is pleased to announce that the new song “Hana ni Mio” by Karin, part of the novel, music, and illustration collaboration project “READ,” will be digitally released on August 21st.

Monogatary.com is a novel submission site where users can freely submit “stories” to “topics” given by the site’s management every day, and have fun reacting to them in various ways, such as adding illustrations and comments. The past contest “Monogatary 2019” hosted by the site attracted a lot of attention, such as the birth of “YOASOBI,” a unit that turns novels into music, which has been extremely successful, with their hit song “Idol” reaching number one on the global charts.

“READ” is a collaborative project from “monogatary.com” featuring up-and-coming creators, mainly novelists, artists, and illustrators.

We will be releasing a few original songs and lyric videos based on the novels every month. It goes without saying that the original novels are fascinating, so please enjoy the reinterpretations of the novels by popular artists and creators.

We are now pleased to announce that READ will be releasing a new song by Karin, who has a total of approximately 320,000 followers on social media and whose first original song, Hitori, has been played 10 million times on subscription services, titled “Hana ni Mio,” digitally on Wednesday, August 21st.

Karin is a notable female singer who sympathizes with the sadness of not only young people but people of all ages. In 2020, she started posting videos of her singing and playing the guitar on social media.

Her weak yet strong singing voice and songs have touched the sorrows of many people, and she currently has a total of 320,000 followers on social media. Her first original song, “Hitori,” has been played 10 million times on subscription services, and the music video has been played over 5 million times.

The new song “Hana ni Mio” released today is based on the novel “Kozokoro” (written by Bonimi) posted on monogatary.com.
Karin’s unique expressiveness through her songs and melodies expresses the important themes of “transplantation” and “death,” which are sometimes light-hearted and sometimes profound. Please enjoy the novel and its lyrics.
