The popular three-piece rock band Hwyl has released a new song, “Synopsis”! It is based on the novel “The Night the Daffodil Sleeps”, posted on monogatary.com.

Monogatary.com is a novel submission site where users can freely submit “stories” to “topics” given by the site’s management every day, and have fun reacting to them in various ways, such as adding illustrations and comments. The past contest “Monogatary 2019” hosted by the site attracted a lot of attention, such as the birth of “YOASOBI,” a unit that turns novels into music, which has been extremely successful, with their hit song “Idol” reaching number one on the global charts.

“READ” is a collaborative project from “monogatary.com” featuring up-and-coming creators, mainly novelists, artists, and illustrators.

We will be releasing a few original songs and lyric videos based on the novels every month. It goes without saying that the original novels are fascinating, so please enjoy the reinterpretations of the novels by popular artists and creators.

We are now pleased to announce that READ will be digitally releasing a new song titled “Synopsis” by the popular rock band “Hwyl,” who promote themselves as “representing the common people of Japan,” on Wednesday, October 2nd.

“Hwyl” is a three-piece band formed in 2021 that represents the “common people of Japan.” The band’s sharp, penetrating lyrics that capture everyday life and passionate live performances are appealing, and their 2022 release “Kurashi” became a hot topic on social media. They are a young band that has attracted attention, having won the audition for ROAD TO JAPAN JAM 2023 and performed at ROCK IN JAPAN 2023 and MURO FESTIVAL 2023.

Hwyl has released a new song, “Synopsis.” The song is based on the novel “The Sleeping Night of the Daffodil,” posted on monogatary.com.

This song is a re-expression of a novel about a man who experiences love from high school to his 30s, and is wrapped up in the weak, fragile, and unresolved feelings of two people who cannot be apart. Please enjoy listening to the song and comparing it to the novel.
