The up-and-coming artist “Seikatsu wa Wasurete”, who has already received a lot of attention, especially from the Z generation, has released a new song “Iro no Koto” based on a novel! The cover and video, drawn by popular illustrator Sayuri Fujimaki, have also been released.

Sony Music Entertainment Inc. is pleased to announce the release of “Iro no Koto,” a new song by “Seikatsu wa Wasurete,” which has received a great response, especially from Gen Z, as part of the novel, music, and illustration collaboration project “READ.”

Monogatary.com is a novel submission site where users can freely submit “stories” to “topics” given by the site’s management every day, and have fun reacting to them in various ways, such as adding illustrations and comments. The past contest “Monogatary 2019” hosted by the site attracted a lot of attention, such as the birth of “YOASOBI,” a unit that turns novels into music, which has been extremely successful, with their hit song “Idol” reaching number one on the global charts.

“READ” is a collaborative project from “monogatary.com” featuring up-and-coming creators, mainly novelists, artists, and illustrators.

We will be releasing a few original songs and lyric videos based on the novels every month. It goes without saying that the original novels are fascinating, so please enjoy the reinterpretations of the novels by popular artists and creators.

We are now pleased to announce that the new song “Colors of Life” by up-and-coming artist “Seikatsu wa Wasurete,” which has already received a great response from Gen Z since “READ,” has been digitally released today, Friday, July 19th.

“Seikatsu wa Wasurete” is a male singer-songwriter/track maker who began his artist career in February 2020. His ennui-filled atmosphere and unforgettable singing voice have made him a popular artist, especially among Gen Z.

“Life is Forgotten” has turned the novel “Wakattatsu Kumotte” posted on monogatary.com into a song. The song is a story about the days of youth spent chasing after the backs of grown-ups with a slightly shadowy figure. The worldview of the original novel, “the feeling of a dazed summer afternoon,” and the nuances of “Life is Forgotten” are exquisitely harmonized into the song. Please enjoy listening to the novel and the audio.

What’s more, popular illustrator Sayuri Fujimaki is in charge of the artwork and lyric video for the song “Iro no Koto.”

The lyric video is scheduled to be released at 6pm today, so please be sure to check it out.

“READ” is a project that allows you to experience a three-dimensional worldview through the three axes of novels, music, and illustrations.

Please enjoy “Forget Life” and this work, created in collaboration with Fujimaki Sayuri.
