TAIKING is the guitarist for the rock band Suchmos and has been attracting attention for his wide range of activities, including supporting many live performances by popular artists.
It has been decided that a new collaborative song series will be started as part of his solo project.
Following the release of “Rules feat. Tao Tsuchiya” in 2023, she will continue to release collaborative songs with artists with diverse voices.
As the first release in this series, the new song “Step By Step (feat. Shota Aratani)” featuring former yonawo member Shota Aratani will be released on Wednesday, June 19th.
The combination of TAIKING’s light guitar sound and Shota Aratani’s mellow vocal work makes this a perfect song for the upcoming season.

He is the guitarist of the six-member rock band Suchmos, who held a one-man concert at their hometown Yokohama Stadium in 2019, drawing 30,000 people, just four years after their debut, and announced a hiatus in 2021. In August 2021, he launched his solo project with his first single, “Easy.” He has attracted attention by appearing at large festivals around the country, such as GREEN ROOM FESTIVAL, SWEET LOVE SHOWER, and VIVA LA ROCK. As a guitarist, he has supported the solo concerts of Vaundy Yanatori, Fujii Kaze, RADWIMPS, iri, and others. He has also been involved in a wide range of activities, including participating in recordings for works by Vaundy, Natori, RADWIMPS, Ado, Masaki Suda, and Kouki Okamoto (OKAMOTO’). In this project, he not only plays guitar but also vocals, bass, drums, and keys, demonstrating his multi-faceted talents. In September 2022, he will release his first album, “TOWNCRAFT,” and hold his first nationwide tour in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. In March 2024, he will hold his first acoustic tour, “TAIKING Acoustic Around “Cheers,” in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, with all shows sold out. He has also formed a community called “CONNECTION” with his friends, which aims to revitalize his hometown of Yokohama, and is also involved in community contribution activities such as various planning and cleaning activities.
