brkfstblend announces release of their first EP, “City Habits”!

brkfstblend, a band consisting of Michael Kaneko, Keity, and Tetsuji Kasuya, will release their long-awaited first EP, “City Habits,” on Wednesday, July 10th.

Introducing “City Habits”

While their core is American roots music from the 70s and 80s, they continue to create new sounds that defy convention.
This album contains six tracks: “Cannonball,” brkfstblend’s own reinterpretation of disco music; “City Habits,” the lead track and the hottest funk tune of the summer; “NYC,” which is based on classic rock but with a modern twist; “2AM,” which has been a hit in the West despite being unpromoted and is reminiscent of the AOR of the past; the ultimate ballad “West LA,” and finally “Cannonball (Keity Wasted Remix),” a remix by bassist Keith.
The jacket design was created by graphic designer Asuka Watanebe, who has also worked on the main visuals for FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and Asagiri JAM, and has created artwork for numerous artists.
The album beautifully and colorfully expresses the concept of City Habits, and in all of its songs and artwork, they have pursued only what they love, resulting in a timeless, timeless work.

Additionally, a release party will be held at TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET in Shibuya on Thursday, July 25th.

Although they have only been together for six months, they have already been very active, touring 10 locations across Japan.
Their musical style is based on American AOR from the 70s and 80s, with their own unique touches to create a new yet somehow nostalgic sound.
