Gateballers will hold a two-man series at Shibuya WWW! The first guests will be Tokutarou Hosoi and Takoashi Earphones.


GateballersCelebrating their 10th anniversary this year, Gateballers held solo concerts at Shinjuku LOFT in April and Pangea in Shinsaibashi, Osaka in June, both of which were sold out.
As the second part of their 10th anniversary project, they announced a two-man series titled “Blue But Not Blues.”
The first guests are Hosoi Tokutarou and Takota Earphones.
Hamano and Hosoi, two singer-songwriters/guitarists of the same year, born between 1992 and 1993, will meet in Shibuya.

It seemed like two of the best guitarists were attracted to each other, and I couldn’t help but feel like I couldn’t let them go.
Although their hobbies and beliefs are different, they stare at the fretboard with the same keenness.

Formed in Tokyo in May 2013.
In November 2014, vocalist Natsuya Hamano founded the label “Sparkling Records” with Sohei Oyamada (AL, ex. andymori) and others. He began working with bassist Takuma Motomura.
Nara Hisatomi joined the band in July 2015.
Their first album “Lemon songs” released in March 2016 was selected as Tower Records’ push item “Tower Recommend”. With the release of the album, they appeared at various festivals such as “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’16” and “Boro Festa”.
In February 2017, they held their first solo concert at Shimokitazawa SHELTER, and in May they appeared at “COMING KOBE ’17”.
In 2018, he released his second album, “The all” = “Poem”.
Nominated for the APPLE VINEGAR -Music Award- 2019, sponsored by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s Masafumi Goto.
On September 4, 2019, they released their third album “Infinity mirror” and held a nationwide tour.
The final record release event was held at Daikanyama UNIT in November.
In January 2020, they performed two solo concerts in one day at Shimokitazawa Garage, both of which were sold out.
In March 2021, it was announced that bassist Motomura would be leaving the band, and the band held their final solo concert as this lineup at Shibuya WWW.
Tickets sold out in an instant.
Vo. Hamano Natsuya developed thoracic outlet syndrome after breaking both arms in a traffic accident in 2020.
It seemed as if his life as a guitarist had been taken, but after undergoing various treatments and rehabilitation, he returned to activities in 2022.
In March 2022, they will hold a solo concert at Shindaita FEVER with a new lineup, including support members Riki Hidaka on guitar and Yuki Haramoto on bass (Zominsha, ex.Layne). They will make a fresh start.
Starting in October 2022, the band will begin performing live with its current lineup, with bassist Haramoto and guitarist Atsushi Hagimoto (ex.Layne) as support members.
In January 2023, they will independently release the EP “Mirai Kara Kita Hito” (A Person From the Future) as a digital download only EP. They will hold a record release tour in the Kansai region and a record release event at Shindaita FEVER.
In June 2023, they released the EP “Hana to Yume” as a digital download only self-release. They held a record release event at SHELTER in Shimokitazawa. It was sold out.
In 2024, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, they will hold solo concerts at Shinjuku LOFT in Tokyo in April and Pangea in Shinsaibashi, Osaka in June. Both shows are sold out.


Tokutaro Hosoi[Profile of Tokutaro Hosoi]

Born on January 12, 1993 in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture.
In the summer of his third year of high school, after retiring from the basketball club, he was invited by a rock band to perform his first live show. After that, he entered the Faculty of Education at a local university, and became interested in jazz due to the influence of Jimi Hendrix and joined the jazz club.
After graduating, he moved to Tokyo and worked at the Shinjuku PIT INN, while also training by appearing at various musicians’ live shows.
Then in 2020, after spending his days composing and co-writing with Ishiwaka Shun like an exchange diary during the COVID-19 pandemic, and starting experimental live shows with Kimijima Sora that combined acoustic and improvised music, he started his own band, “Hosoi Tokutarou and Octopus Foot Earphones,” with the desire to “express the singing spirit within me not only with the guitar but also with my voice.”
Currently, he continues to innovate his music at numerous live performances across genres, focusing on jazz and improvisational music, supporting various musicians, and working with “SMTK,” a super band made up of players of his generation who are dominating the scene.
