The collaborative single “True Colors” by butaji and Thai singer Flower.far, two singer-songwriters joined by track maker MET, has been digitally released.

butaji, Flower.far and METSinger-songwriter butaji has collaborated with STUTS on the theme songs “Presence” for the TV drama “Omameda Towako and Her Three Ex-Husbands” and “Mirage” for “Elpis,” and his outstanding melody lines have penetrated the living rooms of Japanese households.
Their latest album, “RIGHT TIME,” won the grand prize at the APPLE VINEGAR Music Award, established by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s Goto Masafumi, and has also attracted attention for its high quality.

Flower.far is a notable singer who is signed to Thailand’s up-and-coming label YUPP! and has previously appeared on the video platform COLORS, which introduces the talents of artists from around the world, and has also been selected for Spotify RADAR Global.
It is still fresh in people’s memory that he released the collaborative single “U&I” with 3House in Japan last year.

The single “True Colors” was produced by these two talented singers and was created with beats from MET, the trackmaker who produced many of the songs by the 5MC hip hop collective Sound’s Deli as well as DJ TATSUKI’s “TOKYO KIDS feat. IO & MonyHorse,” a shining hip hop anthem in the scene. The single will be released on June 26th.

Butaji and Flower.far took the initial theme of “freedom that transcends sexuality and nationality” from a track that MET was originally in the process of producing, and each of them freely reinterpreted the words and incorporated them into the melody and lyrics.
Since coming out as bisexual, butaji has met more people in the LGBTQ+ scene and is also a committed artist to the scene.
Flower.far also writes songs about her current views and thoughts on love, based on her experiences with her previous LGBTQ+ partner.

Time has passed since the dance culture that originated from the LGBTQ+ community, and MET’s track, which was created with Amapiano and Afrobeats as inspiration, both of which continue to produce hits in the pop field as dance music today, also feels like it embodies the meaning of expressing the era of 2024 through music.
The melody contains the unique song-like quality of butaji, who loves the pop music that has shaped Japanese culture, and the light and warm flow that only Flower.far, who was raised in Thailand, can have, intertwined with the track.
This song, which also incorporates such musical interest, is a cutting-edge folklore that crosses borders and can also be described as pop music.

History has proven that pop music has overturned the conventional wisdom of the world.
There are many famous songs that stand out in pop culture in a natural way while also being committed to LGBTG+, such as Kylie Minogue and Beyonce. This new anthem was born with such history in mind, celebrating the “joy of loving yourself.”
The mix was done by DOI and the mastering was done by Colin Leonard, and the cover photo is a work by photographer Taisuke Nakano, who is a friend of butaji and has been open about his sexuality.
