Maya OngakuIt has been a year since their debut album, Approach to Anima, was released last year by Guruguru Brain/Bayon Production.
Maya Ongaku has entered a new phase of evolution and is taking a new approach to her sound with this conceptual album that is based on rhythm machines and features electronic developments.
The pre-released M-1 song “Iyo no Hito” is already becoming a regular at live performances.
“Anoyo Drive” has an unsettling atmosphere with effective saxophone sounds riding on a minimalist beat.
“Love with Phantom” is a strange pop song that sounds like a nursery rhyme and will get stuck in your head on a loop.
“Meiso Ongaku” is a grand and spiritual 15-minute piece that has often been performed at live shows.
A masterpiece that symbolizes the original Japanese alternative that the world is seeking!

Maya Ongaku is a three-member band formed in 2021 in a seaside village on Enoshima, consisting of Tsutomu Sonoda, Ryodai Takano, and Shohei Ikeda.
A motley collection of local musicians playing earthy psychedelia that goes beyond the roots of soul.
The name does not derive from an ancient civilization, but is a neologism that refers to an imaginary landscape outside of one’s field of vision.
The origin of maya ongaku is the culmination of the phenomenon known as “spontaneous generation,” in which living things are born from non-living things.
