ROTH BART BARON, who had a huge success at their annual summer solo event “BEAR NIGHT 5” at “LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (Shibuya Public Hall)” on August 4th, which featured Moeka Shiotsuka (Yoh Bungaku), Salyu, Soushi Sakiyama, YONCE, and a number of other impressive guests, has announced a nationwide tour starting this fall.
Official advance sales have also started.
The theme of this tour is “Snow Melting and Flowers Blooming.”
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of their first album, “The Ice Age,” in 2014, the band will perform 18 shows across the country, including a “with Strings” arrangement that includes a string quartet, as well as a band arrangement.
In addition, new artist photos by photographer Kisshomaru Shimamura were also released, inspired by the theme of this book tour.
“The Melting Snow and the Blooming Flowers”
Ten years ago, I was making Ice Age in a corner of Philadelphia, New York. I was a reckless guy who decided to make my debut album in America, and I think I was struggling to make my dream come true.
Looking back at the Mifune of the past from my current perspective, I feel that there was nothing wrong with that choice. I’m glad I took the plunge, I’m glad I struggled, I’m glad I didn’t become the gravity-bound adult I longed for. The people I met there, the sounds, the experiences I had, all became a part of me and helped me grow. It was a rare and irreplaceable experience.
There are many people living on the other side of the world, and it’s not a dream but reality. I still play music relying on the senses that have permeated my body while remembering those people, the scenery I walked through, and the music that blended into the city. Now many friends help me with Lotto’s music. Thanks to this album, I have friends all over the world. I don’t think it’s normal to continue making music for ten years.
Ten years ago, I was making music in a frozen world after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Now the ice has completely melted, and the bare earth and reality attack us every day. How will this music of Ice Age sound after ten years in a world where the ice has melted? If flowers bloom feebly in the cruel spring world of melting snow, I want to make new sounds in that scenery.
The tour after the ice melts is Ice Age: Melt and Blooms. I’d love for you to play some music with Lott.

ROTH BART BARON Biography
A Japanese folk rock band led by singer-songwriter Masaya Mifune.
To date, they have released four EPs and eight original albums, including their latest album, “8.” They have performed at many music festivals, and in 2023 they will perform at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL for the second time.
In 2021, “BLUE SOULS” by A_o, a duo artist with Aina the End, became a hot topic after appearing in a Pocari Sweat commercial. In 2022, he worked on the soundtrack and theme song for the film “My Small Land,” which won the Amnesty International Film Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. In October 2023, he released his eighth original album, “8,” and held a nationwide tour of 13 shows, including the Glass Pyramid at Moere Numa Park in Sapporo, called “ROTH BART BARON TOUR 2023-2024 ‘8’.”
