This summer, Teikoku Kissa has been taking advantage of the strengths of its three members in being able to write lyrics and compose music, releasing singles three consecutive months starting in July.
The final new song, “Let’s Go to Meet the Light,” was released today, Friday, September 6th.
The lyrics and music for this work were written by Hikita Akira (Ba), who is known for producing the most diverse melodies within the band.
An up-tempo number that will inspire listeners was born.
To coincide with the release, a music video was released on the band’s YouTube Channel at 5pm today.
Just like the atmosphere of the song, the story follows a girl living in a retro house, and the film is filled with performances and items that link with the lyrics and appear in her daily life, making it a production full of twists that will make you want to watch it over and over again.
The video director is Takagi Mito, a young and acclaimed video artist, with whom she has teamed up for the seventh time for Teikoku Kissa productions.
She has also worked on conton candy’s “Fuzzy Navel” and Wednesday Campanella’s “Lucky Cat.”
Tonight, Teikoku Kissa will be holding Teikoku Kissa Monthly Live 2024 “LOVE & PEACE & MUSIC IN OUR NEW WORLD MUSIC Edition presented by Hikita Akira” at Music Club JANUS in Shinsaibashi, Osaka.
After that, they will embark on their solo tour 2024 “Let’s go and welcome the light under the sky with you” in October, which will take them to nine locations including Zepp.
Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
With three new songs released consecutively since July, we hope you will experience their colorful music on tour.

When you fly high above the clouds, it’s natural to be happy to see the blue sky. In the same way, whether your heart is looking up or down, the world is always shining. So I thought this song was teaching us that all we have to do is go and meet that light, and I wrote it with the theme of “Even in the midst of a repetitive life, interesting things are happening all the time, and we need to notice them.”
Furthermore, I really like the lyrics, expressions unique to the Japanese language such as “Let’s do it right,” “One, two, three,” and “Kinkirakinto,” and the way Hikita-san expresses himself in the lyrics, so I wanted to visualize the lyrics and incorporate them into the theme, and made this music video. I hope you enjoy watching it.
