“MONO NO AWARE” releases music video for new song “Wasureru”! Collaboration with manga “This world is worth fighting for” realized.

MONO NO AWAREMONO NO AWARE has collaborated with the popular manga “This World is Worth Fighting For”, which is currently being serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits!
The music video for “Wasureru,” a track from their new album, “The Buffet,” has been released.

“Wasureru” is a song included in MONO NO AWARE’s latest album, “The Buffet,” released on June 5, 2024.
The song depicts the difficulty of remaining true to yourself while facing the past, and moving forward in everyday life by forgetting.
On the other hand, “This World is Worth Fighting For” is a popular manga written by Kodama Hatsumi that is described as “a story about a struggling office lady saying goodbye to her slumbering life.”
The new volume, which will be released on September 11th, depicts the protagonist and the characters around him continuing to fight for their beliefs despite facing various difficulties and conflicts.

The music video released this time was created by filmmaker Moto.
Filming took place in locations linked to important scenes within the manga, making this a manga music video that employs innovative visual expression that combines live action with the world of manga.

Additionally, comments have been received from MONO NO AWARE’s Shuhei Tamaki and Hatsumi Kodama, author of “This World is Worth Fighting For” regarding this special collaboration.

[Comment from Shuhei Tamaki]

“It’s not that things have changed, it’s that Ito has returned to the way it was before.”

This is the most memorable line in the film, and at that moment the protagonist, Ito Kiri, remembers something she had forgotten.
What’s always strange is that when I forget, I’m alone, but when I remember, I’m with someone.

Battles are often depicted as lonely, but the person fighting them is the only one who thinks so, and in reality, someone is standing by them. My trusted friend, Gen-kun, made a video of this manga that makes you want to believe this.

[Comment from Kodama Hatsumi]

In 2019, I came across “Kamukamo Shikamoni Domokamo!” on NHK Minna no Uta while watching it with my youngest child, who was still a baby at the time. I never imagined that my manga, which I was completely fascinated by, would take such a happy form. I’m so happy that I can’t deny that it’s still a dream, so I play the MV every day. No matter how many times I watch the last scene, it warms my heart.
