Melissa Barry's EP trilogy is finally complete!

Electro by Yuka Miyamae (Vocal, Visual desingner) and HRSM (Keybord, Synthsizer, Programmer, Producer)・Alternative pop duo Melissa Barry’s EP “This is Melissa Barry -Deep inside-” was released on October 16th (Wednesday).

This is the culmination of Melissa Barry’s current efforts, having released EPs in two consecutive months, with her 1st EP “This is Melissa Barry -Pop side-” in August and her 2nd EP “This is Melissa Barry -Cyber side-” in September. 3rd EP “This is Melissa Barry -Deep inside-”.

Like the previous two albums, it contains 6 songs, including rearranged past songs, completely replaced and re-recorded lyrics with English lyrics re-supervised by Trymatic’s NECKY, and new songs.

The 1st EP focused on the pop side, and the 2nd EP focused on the cyber and sci-fi side, but the last album focused on the deep, chaotic, yet beautiful side that is typical of Melissa Barry. It’s an EP.

This work is truly the culmination of Melissa Barry’s quintessential, essential, exciting and moving music.

The first song, “Deep inside,” instantly plunges you into the world of Melissa Barry, and the rearranged “Quick Sink” sends you into a deep trance, and the final new song, “The journey,” releases you from everything.

This work, which has a completely different character from the previous two, is like meditation, prayer, or even anger, as it confronts the unexplained unreasonableness of the world and the contradictions in your own heart. It is one piece.

The musicality is also deeper, and although it is full-fledged electronic music, it has a somewhat organic feel to it, making it the closest to Melissa Barry’s current stance.

The most played Quick Sink of all time has been boldly rearranged with Melissa Barry’s current sensibilities, resulting in a perfect rebirth.

Their new song “The Journey” is their first new song in a long time and has never been performed live, but it is the most beautiful fight song ever. The music video for this song, which will be released on November 19th (Tuesday), will be Melissa Barry’s first music video, and on the same day, her first planned live performance will be held at Ueno Oto Yokocho.

This song is truly about Melissa Barry’s future journey and determination.

Melissa Barry will begin her EP-concluding record live performance at Osaka’s new live house Umeda BANGBOO on October 23rd, and will also begin a release tour in November.

I’m Yuka Miyamae, vocalist of Melissa Barry!

Finally, this 3rd EP is released! I’ve been releasing monthly releases since my 1st EP, and it feels like time has flown by so quickly!

This time it’s “Deep inside”. Let’s dive deeper into the depths. That’s what it feels like. Is that strange part in your own feelings, in your past, or in someone you love? Only you, the person who listened to it, can feel it.

The only thing I can say is that throughout all the songs, I say, “Your true feelings are delicate, and if you realize that, you might be able to get a little relief.”

The new song “The journey” is about what you want to do without being influenced by those around you. This is a song that made me think. I hate losing. If I’m going to do something, I want to see it through to the end. Do you have any similar experience?

Once I start something, I want to burn out until I feel like I’ve finished it. That’s what I always think. I believe it will be a cheering song for everyone who is working hard every day, so please listen to it a lot!

As a side note, recording took a lot of time! LOL That’s what makes it so great, and HRSM arranged it so cool! If you listen to it, you’ll understand everything.

Hello, this is HRSM.

The EP has finally been completed. I put everything I could into it.

The 3rd EP contains content that I want to express purely and take on challenges, without being conscious of trending sounds or songs. This is Melissa Barry.

I was particularly proud of the new song “The journey”, which can be called a masterpiece.

Well, my personal concept has always been a fight song since I started my music career, but are fight songs limited to so-called youth songs?

Is it just bright, energetic, positive songs?

Isn’t there someone who really needs it who is currently in a situation that they can’t help themselves with?

You have no choice but to fight even if it’s painful, there’s nothing you can do about running away from reality. Running away from painful feelings won’t improve anything. I’m in pain every day and feel like I’m going to die. So let’s do our best together.

Wouldn’t something like that be fine?

A song like that saved my life a long time ago. I pray that this intense struggle of mine will also help someone else.

Now, I’ve written a lot of things, and I’ve said things like the end of the EP, which feels like a final act, but it doesn’t really end well.

The music video will be released, my independent project will start (I plan to hold one every two months), the tour will start, and I’m already working on my full album (scheduled to be released in May next year). I have started to get started.

Something better, something more moving, something different.

So that I can say that I did my best, that I accomplished everything.

Let’s all do our best.

Electro-alternative pop duo of Yuka Miyamae (Vocal, Visual designer) and HRSM (Keybord, Synthsizer, Programmer, Producer).

From 2022, HRSM, a composer and arranger who is involved in works not only in Japan but also overseas, and singer Yuka Miyamae will form a unit.

I am working with the aim of creating music that is essential, exciting, and moving.

Yuka Miyamae

Born on May 21, 1998. Vocalist, musician.

She began playing piano and dancing as a child, and began her musical career when she was in high school. I will study musicals at university.

With the expressiveness cultivated through her idol activities and performing arts, she sings in a way that feels close to the listener.

HRSM
Born March 12, 1990, producer, composer, arranger, keyboardist.
Currently active at Trymatic.
HRSM, which has been working on theatrical soundtracks and video music both in Japan and abroad, has a reputation for high-quality and intelligent sound arrangements with stories that stir the listener’s imagination.
In 2022, the participating film BFI (British Film Institute)’s Japan 2021: 100 Years of Japanese Cinema received bronze at ADC New York.
