Ikoma Rina, a former member of Nogizaka46 who has continued to work as an actress since graduating from the group, has released the digital single “TOKYO DANCE -Dai Tokyo Ondo-” under the name RINA IKOMA.
This song was produced as part of a collaboration project between Asahi Soft Drinks’ “Wilkinson” and public baths, and was a hot topic when it was available for preview at Hotta-yu and Bunka-yokusen, two popular public baths in Tokyo. A collaboration video with Wilkinson featuring Ikoma Rina herself was also released, and fans were eagerly awaiting the release, which was finally released today.

The original song on which this song is based, “Dai Tokyo Ondo,” was planned and produced as a dance song for the 15th anniversary of the launch of Tokyo 12 Channel (now TV Tokyo) in 1979. Composed by People’s Honor Award-winning composer Endo Minoru, it is a famous Showa era song that has been sung by many legendary singers including Hashi Yukio and Misora Hibari, and is known to a wide range of generations as a popular Bon Odori song.
The song has been reborn as a hyper-pop dance tune perfect for summer! The production team includes songwriter Nanako Ashida, who has written songs for artists such as Urashimasakatasen and Naoto Inti Raymi, and is also active as part of the artist group 7co, and trackmaker RIK, who continues to create buzz with street artists such as Novel Core, BBY NABE, and vividbooy. It’s a catchy song that elevates the Bon Odori dance into a Bon dance.

Born in Akita Prefecture in 1995. She has been the center for five consecutive Nogizaka46 releases since their debut single.
After graduating from the group in 2018, she has been active as an actor in stage plays, TV dramas, movies, etc. She is a regular cast member on “Stretch Mangold” (NHK Educational TV), and in 2021 she took on her first solo play in the stage play “7322 Loves of Me and Merryvel.” She appeared as the mysterious woman Haruka Motoki in the NTV drama “The Real Criminal Flag,” and her bizarre performance drew attention.
Her first starring role in a TV series was in ABC TV’s “OTHELLO” which aired in 2022, and she then went on to star in the role of Eda Maki in the drama “Nigakute Amai” which was broadcast/streamed on Lemino and Tokai TV.
She appeared as one of the main cast members in the film “Kikaijima” directed by Takashi Shimizu, which was released in June 2023, playing the role of Mio Fukazawa. She is expanding her field of activity, with the film “Shinji Muroi: The Unconquered” scheduled for release in October this year.
