The special drama GTO is back for the first time in 26 years in 2024! The theme song POISON has been released as an official HIPHOP arrangement in a special collaboration between Matt Cab, vividboooy, and DALU!

In April 2024, a GTO revival starring Takashi Sorimachi will be revived as a special drama for the first time in 26 years.

Inspired by the drama’s much talked about appearance by all of the original cast members, music producer Matt Cab has officially arranged the theme song “POISON” sung by BLUE ENCOUNT and Takashi Sorimachi.

The impressive guitar phrases and chorus vocals from the original songs were boldly sampled and fused with hip-hop beats such as drill and trap. The strongest hip-hop arrangement was completed by the participation of two rappers, vividboooy and DALU, who have been producing a series of street hits.

This work, “POISON 2024”, will be released as an official sampling song!

I am very honored to be involved in the official remake of POISON. GTO is a symbolic drama of that time, so I decided to rewatch the entire previous work for inspiration. Combining Sorimachi’s voice with two special artists of our time, vividboooy and DALU, was a very unique puzzle. I wanted to keep the message and feeling of the original song while incorporating both “retro” and “modern” elements in a balanced way so that it would resonate with a new generation of listeners. I hope that all generations who listen to this version will feel the “sense of freedom” and the “great energy” that we felt in the studio!
