Electro by Yuka Miyamae (Vocal, Visual designer) and HRSM (Keyboard, Synthsizer, Programmer, Producer)Alternative pop duo Melissa Barry will release their first EP, “This is Melissa Barry -Pops side-,” digitally on Wednesday, August 14th.
Melissa Barry is a unit formed by HRSM, a composer and arranger who works on projects not only in Japan but also overseas, and singer Miyamae Yuka.
Based in Tokyo, they aim to create essential, exciting and moving music.

Melissa Barry has released 14 songs to date, but she has reconsidered the arrangements and lyrics of all of those songs, re-recording them, and including re-recorded songs and new songs, and will release an EP: This is Melissa Barry starting in August, with three EPs in a row, each with a different concept (the first is the Pops side, the second is the Cyber side, and the third is Deep inside).

This work, “This is Melissa Barry -Pops side-“, features the pop side of Melissa Barry and contains a total of six songs, including the live staple “Side by side” and the new song “The Monster”.

The new song “The Monster” is a beautiful song that features a fast kick beat, grand strings, and a melodic vocal harmony sung in a screaming manner, making it a song that is somewhat lonely and sad, but also gives a sense of hope.

Of the songs on the pop side, this one has the heaviest theme, one of war and conflict.

This is a bold song that suggests the possibility of the next Melissa Barry.

Also, when their third album is released in October, various details about their next moves will be revealed, so be sure to check them out.

[Comment from the artist]

I’m Miyamae Yuka, the vocalist of Melissa Barry!

Finally, we are happy to release this EP. Our existing songs have been reborn and new songs have been included! If you listen to this, you will understand who we are now.

I re-recorded everything, but especially “In my head” and “Drones” are a fusion of the Melissa Barry from when they were released (two years ago) and the current Melissa Barry who has gained live experience. Without these two years, this EP would not have been born. It’s very moving.

It’s a work that’s packed with everything we’ve done so far, and acts as a catalyst for the future. We’ll be releasing Cyber Side and Deep Inside in August and September, respectively. I hope you enjoy them.

And as for our new song, “The Monster,” although we sing it live, I’m happy to be able to release it as an audio recording.

The song is aimed at the conflicts that are happening everywhere.

“Did we discuss it enough to cause this tragedy?” “When the last one of us falls off the cliff, will you stop calling us monsters?”

When I sing this song, I almost cry. Why do we have to fight when we are all the same? Aren’t we all hoping for the same thing in the end?

Laugh, cry, just want to live. Please listen to this with your loved ones in mind. Wishing you peace.

Yes, it started in winter, went through spring and then into summer.
The long and arduous work on the EP is finally (almost) finished and it’s finally ready for all of you to hear.

This is Melissa Barry. I put everything I could into this comment on 7/30.

The new song “The Monster” on the first album was written while looking at the pain I feel when I watch the news or wherever I look, and while touching it little by little. I’m confident in it. The theme is a bit heavy, but I think it’s a story that everyone can relate to. It’s definitely moving, so please listen to it.

Starting with this album, Necky from Trymatic has been involved in writing the lyrics and supervising the English, resulting in more precise lyrics and singing.
So, I did everything I could. I hope you enjoy this EP.

We will be making various announcements from here on out, so please keep an eye out; it’s sure to be very interesting.
