Actor Park Seo-joon proved his explosive popularity by thrilling an audience of 18,000 at his fan meeting held in Tokyo and Osaka.
After successfully completing his Seoul fan meeting on August 11th, Park Seo Joon arrived in Japan for fan meetings to be held in Tokyo on the 23rd and Osaka on the 25th.
In the case of actors, fan meetings are often held due to the popularity of their dramas, but this fan meeting was special.
This was a special event held for fans to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Park Seo Joon’s debut, and despite it being a break from work, it proved his popularity by drawing fans from both Korea and abroad.
The venue for this concert was a large arena, and all seats were sold out for both the Tokyo and Osaka concerts. There was a flood of requests for additional tickets, so the equipment area was quickly opened up to sell additional tickets, but these also sold out immediately.
This can be seen as an expression of the earnest feelings of Japanese fans towards Park Seo-joon, who has maintained syndrome-level popularity since “Itaewon Class.”
This is a much talked about fan meeting that has been covered by the media every day. When Park Seo Joon appeared on stage, a wave of cheers erupted. When he asked the fans gathered at the venue, “How are you?”, a huge cheer rang out throughout the venue. There was also a section where he reminisced with his past by watching videos of him visiting the school he went to and places he used to live with his fans. He also delighted his fans by recreating a popular scene from the TV drama “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?”, which was also hugely popular in Japan.
The most moving part of the performance was the cover of Utada Hikaru’s “First Love.” Park Seo Joon had revealed that he liked the drama “First Love,” which was inspired by this song, and as soon as the intro started, fans erupted in cheers, touching the hearts of fans with his tone and singing voice that reminded them of first love.
At the end of the performance, as a surprise to her, she gave permission for the audience to take photos with their smartphones, and went down from the stage to the audience seats to have an intimate exchange with the fans. On the 25th, she held a fan meeting at Ookini Arena Maishima in Osaka, where she spent an irreplaceable time with many fans.
Park Seo-joon is also set to star in the Netflix series “Creatures of the City” Season 2 in September.
