Electro by Yuka Miyamae (Vocal, Visual designer) and HRSM (Keyboard, Synthsizer, Programmer, Producer)・Alternative pop duo Melissa Barry will release their second EP “This is Melissa Barry -Cyber side-” digitally on Wednesday, September 11th.
Melissa Barry is a Tokyo-based duo consisting of HRSM, a composer and arranger who has worked on projects both in Japan and overseas, and singer Yuka Miyamae. They aim to create essential, exciting and moving music.
Melissa Barry has released 14 songs to date, but she has reconsidered the arrangements and lyrics of all of those songs, re-recording them, and including re-recorded songs and new songs, and will release an EP: This is Melissa Barry starting in August, with EPs released over three consecutive months, each with a different concept (the first is the Pop side, the second is the Cyber side, and the third is Deep inside).
Her second EP, “This is Melissa Barry -Cyber side-“, features Melissa Barry’s sci-fi and electronica side, and contains supreme electronica tracks that suit neon and futuristic cities.
The album includes rearrangements of the previously released songs “Feel like to live,” “Split my life,” and “Let go of the past.” It also includes new songs “The formed love” and “This broken.”
Their third album will be released in October, and details of their next moves will likely be revealed one after another, so be sure to keep an eye on them.

This time, we’ve gathered our cyber songs. For us who put electro front and center, this EP is a must-have! In live performances, our partner HRSM will be making the synths roar in all of these songs lol. The three existing songs have been rearranged to make the most of that roar. Of course, the two new songs also have a sound that suits neon lights. Please listen to it while imagining the deep bass that shakes the live house, the piano playing melodic sounds in the middle, and the vocals resonating in the center. You’ll want to go see the show right away.

Pop side was released a month ago, and Cyber side was released.
It’s a much more aggressive and flashy album than their last EP.
In particular, the arrangements of Feel like to live and Split my life have changed considerably from the originals, becoming more aggressive and electro, yet industrial and rock-like.
In addition, with her new song, The formed love, Melissa Barry takes on the trap-like genre for the first time.
It’s a new frontier for me (or so I think). I’ve been pouring out all my rock spirit, anger, despair, and other emotions that I’ve always had. I usually let those emotions run wild during my live shows, haha.
This broken is also an interesting arrangement. Actually, this song was written more than two years ago when we first formed the band, but we gave up on it at the recording stage due to our lack of skill.
This time, we have revised the arrangement and re-recorded the vocals so that we can successfully perform it in front of an audience.

Yuka Miyamae
Born May 21, 1998. Vocalist and musician.
She started piano and dance at a young age, began her musical career in high school, and studied musical theatre in college.
Using the expressiveness she has cultivated through her work as an idol and in the performing arts, she sings in a way that empathizes with the listeners.
HRSM
Born March 12, 1990, producer, composer, arranger, and keyboardist.
He is currently also active in Trymatic.
HRSM has worked on soundtracks and film music both in Japan and overseas, and is renowned for its high-quality, intelligent sound arrangements with a narrative quality that stimulates the listener’s imagination.
At the 2022 ADC New York, the participating film Japan 2021: 100 Years of Japanese Cinema won a Bronze Award from the BFI (British Film Institute).
