Qwami, an R&B singer whose name is known nationwide for his unforgettable voice, has released a new EP!!
Qwami is an up-and-coming R&B singer with an American father and a Japanese mother, who grew up in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture.
He has been gradually expanding nationwide with the release of EPs and singles and energetic live performances, and in 2024 he moved his base to Tokyo and completed his first EP “NEVER STOP”. The album was produced by GP of Gaki Ranger, who is involved in a wide range of sound making.
The title track “NEVER STOP” is a disco-esque track with an 80s vibe, while “CONNECT” has a laid-back rhythm.
The album includes four songs in total, including a remix of the popular song “Neon,” which was also included in the R&B compilation “R&B Vibes in Japan selected by DaBook” released in July.
The GP Remix features a powerful male duet with senior R&B singer JAY’ED, while the grooveman Spot Remix is a grand slow jam with a 90s vibe. Each remix breathes new life into the classic song.
With a sound that simultaneously evokes the latest trends and a nostalgic atmosphere, and qwami’s natural, sad singing voice, it touches the hearts of a wide range of listeners, regardless of age.
This is the birth of a new star that will shake up the R&B/pop scene in the future.
