Live Report

Today, STU48 held “Fukufes Extra Edition – The Road to Shibuya Circuit Fest” at Spotify O-WEST in Tokyo. Fukuda Akari, who just had a successful first circuit festival “Fukufes Vol.3” in her hometown of Kagawa last weekend, teamed up with Spotify O-WEST in Tokyo to host a live band battle. With the goal of “I want to hold a circuit festival in Shibuya someday!” in mind, the title was “Fukufes Extra Edition – The Road to Shibuya Circuit Fest”. Fukuda, who is still in the midst of her youth and still has the momentum of the circuit festival in Kagawa still fresh, appeared from the opening act and performed “Tonari no Banana” with Mineyoshi Arisa. “Thank you for coming to Fukufes Extra Edition – Road to Shibuya Circuit Festival. Last week, we held Fukufes in my hometown of Kagawa Prefecture, and we wanted to make it even bigger, so this time we’re going to have a live concert with Spotify O-WEST. And the idol who will be performing this time is my father’s favorite idol! Both father and son are abusing their authority. I’m sure they’re watching the live stream from Kagawa,” he said, making the audience laugh. On the stage of “Baby’s Breath and Stella,” they collaborated on the song “Yume-Riki” by STU48. On the stage of “Untitled,” Fukuda collaborated on “Kodo.” STU48’s stage started with “Ame toka Namida toka,” and the set list was a little different from usual, and Shinano Sorahana commented, “This set list is too godly,” which drew a big round of applause from the fans. At the end, all the performers took a group photo, and Fukuda concluded by saying, “We owe this joint concert to all our fans. Isn’t it great when all the fans of each band come together? It was so much fun. We need your help to continue on to the next festival and to grow it into an even bigger one. Please continue to support us.” With this, “Fukufes Special Edition – The Road to Shibuya Circuit Festival” came to a close.

Comment from Akari Fukuda

It’s been a week since Vol.3 in Kagawa. Still excited, we hosted the first Fukufes special edition! This time, we will be holding it with the full cooperation of Shibuya O-WEST. The inspiration for creating Fukufes was the long-awaited Yatsui Festival. Being able to use one of the venues is a big step towards the Shibuya circuit. For the first edition on Friday, September 13th, we invited Gypsophila, Stella, and Untitled from Hokkaido. We thought that both idol groups would have a high affinity with STU48, so we asked them. They have a refreshing atmosphere, but they definitely have a core, and I think it’s a lineup that conveys the strength of idols. What was very different from the main edition was that other idols covered STU48 songs in full size. It was a happy time to feel the charm of Setouchi’s songs once again. The second event will feature Jams Collection and Pure White Canvas! STU48 will also be participating with some rare members. Look forward to it!
