STU48 Christmas Concert 2024 11th single “Do you see the horizon?” Performance debut

STU48, who is preparing to release their 11th single on January 15, 2025, held the “STU48 Christmas Concert 2024” today, December 22, at the Okayama Art Creation Theater Hallenova Grand Theater in Okayama Prefecture. All 31 members appeared in Santa Claus costumes, and the event started with a cute rendition of “Noel no Yoru” (AKB48) in the midst of falling snow. Captain Azumi Okada called out, “Please receive lots of presents from STU Santa today!” and performed Christmas-like songs such as “December Kangaroo” (SKE48) and “Anata to Christmas Eve” (AKB48). It was exciting.

From STU48’s 1st album “Nostalgic Tomorrow” released in June of this year, they performed the lead song “Ai no Shigegata” and the album songs “Sweaty Smell”, “Tsuki to Boku to New Me” and “Let’s go to Shodoshima”. Looking back, Akari Fukuda said, “We released an album this year, and I think we were able to deliver a lot of STU48 songs to everyone!”

For the encore, 16 selected members dressed in new costumes appeared and performed their 11th single “Horizon wo Miteruka?”, which will be released on January 15, 2025, for the first time. STU48, whose songs are characterized by the strong message of the lyrics and the worldview typical of Setouchi, will try their hand at a Showa pop song style for the first time. It is a nostalgic song that will give you a heart-wrenching feeling, depicting the setbacks and conflicts of the main character as he pursues his dreams. The beauty of this song was expressed to the fullest through a performance that combined delicacy and dynamic choreography in the rapidly changing formations, and the repetition of catchy movements made for a pleasant performance.

Sakui Sokawa, a 3rd generation student who will be joining the senbatsu members for the first time, was selected as the center, and Sokawa said, “I’m really looking forward to this day, and I’ve been practicing every day until this morning, but it’s really amazing.” I was nervous, but I’m so happy that I was able to perform this song for everyone today and have them know the song! Thank you very much! Rine Utsumi, a 2nd generation member who was selected for the first time, said with tears in her eyes, “I didn’t really feel it until the performance, but I finally got it, and with my own costume, I will be participating as a member of the senbatsu members for the 11th single. It’s true that you can I’m from Okayama Prefecture, so I feel very fortunate that we were able to perform our songs for the first time in Okayama Prefecture, so I want to spread the word about STU48 more and more people. Yo I’ll do my best. Thank you for your support for this single and STU48!” Captain Okada said, “This venue was also the place where we held the 7th anniversary tour. It was the last stop of the 2018 tour, and I was really moved to be able to perform this song with Sacchi (Sokawa) as the center, and it felt like a new step for STU48! ” he commented.

Pre-distribution of the 11th single “Horizon wo Miteruka?” will start on various distribution sites from midnight on December 23rd.

The other songs included in the 11th single have also been announced on the official website, but the coupling songs will be “STU48 Daiendokai” on December 28th (Saturday) and “STU48 COUNTDOWN LIVE 2024-2025” on December 31st (Tuesday). It is scheduled to be unveiled for the first time.
