Today marks the release date of STU48’s 11th single “Horizon wo Miteruka?” and premiered the MUSIC VIDEO on their official YouTube channel at 21:00. A release event will be held on the day at the Hiroshima Station South Exit underground plaza.
STU48, which is based in the seven prefectures of Setouchi and whose 11th single “Horizon wo Miteru?” is released today, has released “Horizon wo Miteru?” MUSIC VIDEO YouTube Edit on their official YouTube channel.
In this work, Saki Sokawa, a 3rd generation member who joined STU48 in 2023, will be selected for the first time and will serve as the center. Set to the melody of Showa pop songs, it is a nostalgic song that is both heartbreaking and uplifting, depicting the frustrations and conflicts of the main character as he pursues his dreams.
The MUSIC VIDEO of the 11th single, in which she sings about her resolve to “not see her until my dreams come true” even though she is separated from her lover, is depicted from both the perspectives of Saki Sogawa, who leaves for Tokyo, and the members who see her off. It is. The scene in which all STU48 members appear and see Sokawa departing was filmed at the former Nozaki family residence, a nationally designated important cultural property, in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. One person’s facial expression is cut out. The scenes after moving to Tokyo were shot in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Sokawa’s complicated feelings about his hometown are expressed in various locations such as the city, taxis, and cafes. The dance scene, which dynamically and delicately expresses the meaning of the lyrics, is also a highlight.
A release event was held today at Hiroshima Station’s south exit basement plaza, and six songs, including “Are You Looking at the Horizon?”, were performed in a mini-live that was free for viewing. Sogawa said happily, “It’s my first release event, and I was really looking forward to it!” Regarding the music video shoot, she said, “We had to gather early in the morning, there was a long wait, and this was my first experience shooting a music video, so it was a great experience for me as an idol. It was a lot of fun and I felt happy!” she said.
Also, at the end of the mini-live, Akari Fukuda announced, “We have some news for everyone! Our 11th single “Horizon wo Miteru?” has reached number 1 on the Oricon daily single ranking!” Sogawa said, “Now! , I was as excited as when the center was announced! I’m so happy!”
At the bonus event held for CD purchasers, fans held a finger-cutting event instead of a handshake event on the day of release, in honor of the “promise” that is depicted in the song until a dream comes true. I enjoyed it.
Release commemorative events will be held at Lazona Kawasaki Plaza on Sunday, January 19th, Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens on Saturday, February 1st, Ario Kurashiki on Sunday, February 23rd, and Marugamecho Green on Saturday, March 8th. All mini-lives are available for viewing for free.
[MV director Takumi Saito comment]
When I listened to the song, I imagined a young girl leaving Setouchi for a land called Tokyo.
The feeling of leaving your beloved hometown. The feeling of losing someone important to you.
I carefully depicted the thoughts from each of the two perspectives.
It’s not smooth sailing, but I hope you can feel the determination of this girl, who clings on without being shaken off, from the time she sets out on her journey until dawn.
[Choreography/CRE8BOY comments]
By adding STU48’s supple and delicate dance to this tune, a new view of the world will open up.With this in mind, we designed a choreography that would fully demonstrate the charm of dance.
In particular, at the end of the chorus, she slowly waved her hands and put her hair behind her ears, and then gently placed her little finger on her chest, expressing the delicacy and beauty of this song.
I hope that this work gently touches the hearts of the viewers and allows them to feel the essence of this song.
