STU48 has taken an initiative to spread the appeal of the accommodation business after receiving requests from the China Transportation Agency. Last year, the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan reached an all-time high, and inbound demand continues to increase, but the shortage of personnel in the accommodation industry, which responds to this, is becoming more serious, creating challenges for accepting tourists. Taking this into consideration, we worked with the Chugoku Branch Association of Japan and Chugoku Shikoku Branch Association, with the aim of inviting people to be particularly interested in the accommodation industry. As part of this initiative, Kudo Riko and Hyodo Aoi of STU48 experienced the inn business as waitresses at Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto, while Okamura Rio and Nakamura Mai actually experienced hotel business, including restaurant business at Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima. Through this experience by STU48 members, we aimed to spread the appeal of the accommodation industry widely and to attract interest in young people who will become the next generation of leaders. We will also share what kind of work you do in everyday life? What are you pay attention to when working? We will share with our staff about the appeal and value of working that is unique to accommodation. Please come and watch it.

Okamura Rio

This was my first time working in the hotel business, and as I usually use hotels, I was able to learn about the behind-the-scenes of the hotel business and actually experience it, and there were many things I learned. The smallest details were taken into consideration, and it was a new and fresh time where many discoveries were found. In particular, the front desk work was very difficult, and I really thought it was amazing how carefully they were done with a smile. And I was taught that the most important thing is the “feelings of customers and a smile,” and I felt that there are some overlaps with idols. It was such a valuable experience and it was a lot of fun. I would like to use what I have learned in my future activities!

Kudo Riko

I experienced the work of a waitress at a ryokan in Miyajima!

As we welcome our customers and provide hospitality, we realize the importance of detailed care and warm service. It was a refreshing and fun experience that was impossible to do in the usual way! I once again realized that having a heartfelt approach to each and every customer is very important when working as an idol, and I think that is the commonality between the accommodation and idol industry. I respect the people who work at the inn! I would be happy if everyone who saw this could convey the appeal of the inn’s work!

Nakamura Mai

This was my first time experiencing the hotel business. I often use hotels every time I go on expeditions, but I didn’t know much about the hotel business, so I made lots of new discoveries! There are many different departments within the hotel, but I still think that the hospitality that interacts with people and brings smiles to our customers is a wonderful thing. I also thought that I had something to do with being an idol, and most importantly, I really enjoyed the hotel business experience! I would like to ask many people to learn about this charm!

Hyodo Aoi

I learned the spirit of hospitality after experiencing the work of a maid! I think that each etiquette and language will infiltrate your body through the accumulation, so I respect the elegant behavior of the maid, which can be felt through his usual speaking style! As STU48, I also have a desire to make people happy and entertained by his daily performances, but I think there is something connected to the maid’s work in terms of his thinking!
