A collaborative single by two Japanese artists, Little Happy and Midi Neutron, from the new NYC label Eryngii."Norms"Released on September 2nd

Little Happy’s debut single “Norms”, released on September 2nd by Eryngii, is a raw and honest expression of the frustrations and conflicts of modern life. This collaborative track by two artists who met in high school in Japan was inspired by their real experiences of being disillusioned by the glamorous world of Hollywood and not truly belonging to it, and sings of the frustrations of living as an outsider and not being able to fully belong in that glittering world. The song was born from a personal moment on the beach in Santa Monica, when Little Happy found his “voice” as an artist, and it represents a turning point in his creativity.

The track, produced by producer Midi Neutron, features a hard-hitting, tense beat that focuses on the raw expression of lyrics without exaggeration or embellishment. The lyrics mix dark, faded emotions with a childish sense of humor, embodying the contrast between the artist’s anguish and carefree youth.

Through the real bond that only two people who met in high school in Japan could have, this new work “Norms” criticizes capitalism and the hardships and pressures imposed on us as adults. It will be a new anthem for listeners who are struggling with conflicts and suffering in their daily lives.

The music video was shot in a 360-degree Requiem for a Dream style, warping the scenery of a New York morning subway commute. In addition, Midi Neutron will be performing the song live for the first time with Little Happy at a pop-up show at Electric Sunshine in Chinatown from 4:30pm on the release date.

About Little Happy

This is the first release since Little Happy, aka Jun Sekiya, was born in Yokohama. He has been active in the worlds of filmmaking, writing, and music. His artistic career began with the band “TABEMONO” at a university in New York, where he expressed his creativity through raw and energetic performances. After prioritizing other creative endeavors for several years, he returned to music after suffering from burnout, and now he is channeling his experiences into powerful and emotional songs.
