Coming to Japan in October! Jorja Smith, who represents the UK music scene with her genre-less unique sound and style, has released an MJ Cole remix of her latest single “HIGH”

Jorja Smith, a singer representing the UK music scene, has announced a remix of her latest single “HIGH” released in July by legendary UK garage producer MJ Cole. The collaboration between Cole’s signature sound and Smith’s soulful vocals is sure to captivate listeners.

“High” is a slick, house-inspired summer song produced by Jorja’s longtime collaborator DAMEDAME*. “It’s about finding your friends within yourself. Even when you’re at rock bottom, you gotta find the top,” Jorja says of the single’s inspiration. “I’ve been at rock bottom, and you weren’t always there, but as time went on, I learned to love myself again,” she sings.

“High” marks Jorja’s first release of original music since her long-awaited sophomore album, Falling or Flying, dropped last year. The album is a sonically expansive work that is sometimes slick and glossy R&B, other times a heady and raw alternative sound, but more than anything, it charts Jorja’s journey into a new chapter: acknowledging the constant gears turning in her head while also moving beyond it, growing, and learning to love and respect herself. Released in September 2023, the album garnered critical acclaim that year and was nominated for a BRIT Award in the “Best R&B” category in 2024.
