Chim Chap, a 4-piece mixture band from Shiga, will release their first EP “Orange” on October 30th, both physically and digitally. The single “Ice Tea” will be released today, October 16th, ahead of the EP.
They have already released two limited-edition singles in August and September, and their first single “Sequin” attracted attention as they were picked up on playlists such as Spotify’s “New Music Wednesday” and “Early Noise” despite being a new artist. , the second single “Cassis” was a popular song at live performances and was a long-awaited release by fans.
And the third single “Ice Tea” released this time is about memories with someone you want to forget but can’t forget, and even though they are all bad memories, you still want to “go back”, but you find someone convenient to fill that loneliness. This song is likened to “Ice Tea”. The floating melody from the beginning, the backing guitar that supports it, and the lyrics that repeat from Japanese to English and rhyme are sung in a matter-of-fact manner, making it very impressive.
The EP “Orange” is a 5-song EP that includes 3 songs including those preceding singles and 2 new songs. All songs are written and composed by Jesse, and all songs have a love theme based on Jesse’s actual experiences. It consists of songs that depict romantic experiences during high school, as well as songs about romantic experiences after entering college and becoming an adult. Not only men and women of Generation Z like Jesse, but also older generations will be able to remember the romance of their youth and feel nostalgic. This EP is sure to be a work that will be accepted by a wide range of people.

Chim Chap is a 4-piece mixture band from Shiga. Based in Kansai, active at live houses and street performances. They won the Grand Prix of “ESP BAND CONTEST 2023” and “Judai Hakusho 2024”, and also appeared in large festivals such as “SUMMER SONIC 2024-Can’t you come!? Summer Sonic!?-” and “Inazuma Rock Festival 2024”. Each member has different roots, such as rock, pop, jazz, and funk, and they produce a variety of songs.
One of Chim Chap’s charms is his mixed Japanese/English lyrics created by Jesse, who has roots in Japan and the United States, and his unique style of playing vocals and guitar as a lead guitar.
