Nao’ymt launches project to commemorate 25th anniversary of musician’s career, first single “End of the World” to be released on January 1st

Nao’ymt, a representative of the Japanese music scene and known for producing Daichi Miura and Namie Amuro, is celebrating their 25th anniversary with the launch of a new project, “Yato Naoaki 2025”. The first single will be released on January 1, 2025.

“End of the World” is a song that depicts a broken world and sings of hope for a new beginning. Nao’ymt created this song based on the theme, “If it’s not broken, there’s no rebirth.” It expresses a deep respect for music, which has the power to open up the future without being bound by the past.

This song reflects Nao’ymt’s experience and attitude toward challenges that he has cultivated over his 25-year career. It is a work that also depicts his inner evolution, and is symbolically positioned as the first song of the 25th anniversary project. The following phrases are particularly memorable.

Let’s start here
Brandishing justice
People who suck in it and suffocate it.
Goodbye

These words condense the message of Nao’ymt, who is stepping out of the chaotic modern society into the next world with hope. Nao’ymt himself wrote the lyrics, composed the song, produced the track, and did the vocals, and the mastering was done by Dave Kutch, who has worked with The Weeknd and Billie Eilish. Nao’ymt’s music, which has received high acclaim both domestically and internationally, is now a song that will spread even more globally.

Nao’ymt’s career includes a project called “Yato Naoaki 2014” that looks back on his life. This project, which began on New Year’s Eve 2013, centered around Japanese aesthetics and solitude, and resulted in the release of 20 songs, 5 songs for each season (later, an album with 21 songs with 1 additional song was released). The ambient R&B-based songs and beautiful lyrics, which were new at the time, received a lot of praise, and Daichi Miura heard them and asked Nao’ymt to produce an album. This was the beginning of the “Sphere” project, which boldly expressed reincarnation, and which later became a big hit. This year’s “Nao’ymt 2025” continues the universal theme of “What is life?” and is expected to further explore Nao’ymt’s inner world.
