Chim Chap releases their first single “Lipstick” in 2025!

Chim Chap, a 4-piece mixture band from Shiga, released their 4th digital limited single “Lipstick” on January 15th. In 2024, he released 3 digitally limited singles and his 1st EP “ORANGE” through physical and digital distribution, and although he is a new artist, he was also picked up on playlists such as Spotify’s “New Music Wednesday” and “Early Noise”. In terms of live performances, they won the Grand Prix at Judai White Paper 2024, and appeared in large festivals such as “SUMMER SONIC 2024 – Can’t appear!? Summer Sonic!? -” and “Inazuma Rock Festival 2024”, increasing the reputation of their live performances and becoming dynamic. The year has passed.

“Lipstick”, the first release of 2025 (as seen by Vo. This song is about the feelings that most young people today feel: being left behind. Just like wearing lipstick to look pretty, humans pretend to be “right” even if they lie to those around them and hurt others. The song has an impressive up-tempo rhythm and a guitar chord riff that can be heard throughout the song, and the English lyrics are sung with a refreshing feel. This is Chim Chap’s first song with all English lyrics, and it is a new work sung by Jesse, a native English speaker.

Chim Chap is a 4-piece mixture band from Shiga. Based in Kansai, active at live houses and street performances. They won the Grand Prix of “ESP BAND CONTEST 2023” and “Judai Hakusho 2024”, and also appeared in large festivals such as “SUMMER SONIC 2024-Can’t you come!? Summer Sonic!?-” and “Inazuma Rock Festival 2024”. Each member has different roots, such as rock, pop, jazz, and funk, and they produce a variety of songs. One of Chim Chap’s charms is his mixed Japanese/English lyrics created by Jesse, who has roots in both Japan and the United States, and his unique style of playing lead guitar as well as vocals and guitar.

First EP “ORANGE” will be released in October 2024.
