R&B singer aimimi’s first 4th EP in about three years, “Empower.Embrace,” will be released today, Wednesday, February 5th. Additionally, the lyrics video for “The Bdst.” will be premiered at 8pm today.
This work is based on the themes of Empower and Embrace, and contains a message of hope that empowers and brings out your strength to accept your imperfect self. The production was attended by Japanese and American producers and songwriters such as Moderny Beats, Yui Mugino, LEJKEYS, DERA, Jess Wong, and SARA-J.
The pre-single single “The Bdst.” is a R&B Seoul Anthem who strongly refrains, saying, “Tell ’em what I like I’m the baddest.” This song gives a sense of aimi’s determination and new frontiers, having been holding the microphone with a genre on his back. It also includes two new songs. “Wish You Better,” produced during a co-light session that connects Atlanta and Japan remotely, is an Afrobeats track with impressive emotional piano melody, and is a break-up song that describes positive farewells. Trap R&B’s “Black Coffee” compares his bittersweet musical life to coffee, and sings positively about his life as a life of hard work. “Sippin’ Sake,” a reinterpretation of Y2K R&B, “(wanna vibe) with you,” a classic live song, “I’m OK,” a theme of self-acceptance, and a disco reminiscent of a free girl’s night out. It also includes house R&B “Love Like That.”
To conclude the pre-release tour that took place in Kyoto, Nagoya and Aomori, he held his first solo performance at Shibuya WWW on Friday, February 21st.
In addition, it has been decided that a campaign to share the EP will be held.

Aimi
R&B singer/songwriter. The songwriting allows you to freely flow between Japanese and English, and rides the current R&B sound, featuring the flavor of R&B of the 90s and 00s. From his debut in 2020, he has released songs with music producers Shingo.S, Modesty Beats, DJ beatmakers grooveman Spot, and DJ KOMORI, among others. Last spring, she also released a collaboration single with US R&B producer LEJKEYS, which sparked a stir.
In 2020, he released his first EP, Water Me, and made his debut at number one on the iTunes R&B/Soul charts. Although he is unknown, his lead song “Sorry” was chosen as J-WAVE’s Sonar Trax. In 2021, they released their second EP, “Changed 4 Good,” and streaming numbers have skyrocketed in Asia. In February 2022, he released his third EP, “Chosen One,” and once again ranked number one on the iTunes R&B/Soul charts.
The event “STAY READY” was launched to liven up the domestic R&B scene twice, and was a huge success. In 2023, they released collaboration singles with DJ tofubeats, EMI MARIA, and JASMINE.
