Izumii, an electro-pop duo that connects Tokyo and New York, has officially released today’s long-awaited debut EP, “Back to Zero,” on Eryngii Records.
This work features a sound that combines drum and bass, J-POP, and hip-hop, and is packed with the ambient, futuristic soundscape unique to Izumii and emotionally swaying melody.

Following the pre-single “Back to Zero” and “Murasaki” released in January this year, this EP features five tracks on creative rebirth, spiritual growth and the resilience needed for a new start. Through this, it guides listeners to a dystopian yet hopeful worldview.

Back to Zero is a work that expresses the anxiety, excitement and unknown feelings that you feel when you stand at the boundaries of a new stage. This EP reflects the cycle of creative work that repeats destruction and rebirth, and depicts the possibilities of art and the journey of endless transformation through art.
In terms of sound, it incorporates a variety of musical influences, combining liquid drums and bass from UK and Germany, trap rhythms from New York, and catchy melodies from J-POP. Murasaki features Japanese rapper Haku and skillfully combines different styles. Meanwhile, “Don’t Talk” featuring New York-based artist Malik English gives the album a more vivid and emotional feel. Throughout, the melancholy, elation and fantastic yet powerful sound further enhance the Izumii’s personality.

With the release of the EP, the music video for “Don’t Talk” will be released on February 19th.
Directed by Izumii’s creative director Hayatoshi Suda, this video shows the world of cyberpunk, wrapped in Tokyo’s underground neon light.

Formed in Tokyo, Izumii is a duo consisting of Ken Isaacs (vocals, lyrics and composition) and Hayatoshi Suda (creative director, engineer and visual designer). The musicality that combines Eastern and Western cultural elements creates a sound that gives the listener a new perspective.

A new music label founded in NYC in 2023 by Robert Ramirez, Rikitaro Suzuki, and Tadashi Beddie. With its motto, it is to explore the intersections of Japanese and American music, and brings artists who create unique and fascinating music to the world.
