The couple appeared in the music video
The Liberteens frontman Peter Doherty has released the third leading single from his solo album, “The Day The Baron Died,” which is scheduled to be released in May. At the same time, the music video was released.
This song, “The Day The Baron Died,” is the pre-single single from the new album “Felt Better Alive,” which will be released by Strap Originals on May 16th. It was released following “Felt Better Alive” and “Calvados.” The Gothic music video is breathtakingly beautiful, as if the film “Portrait of a Burning Woman” and the romance drama “Pordark of the Wind.” It was photographed at Peter’s home and the cliffs of Etretat in Normandy. The film will be directed by Thad & Numa, and will star Peter himself (as Baron) and his wife Katia De Vidas (as Lady).
“The Day The Baron Died”
Peter talks about the song “The Day The Baron Died.”
“I’ve always thought this song was a strange jazz number. It’s kind of a homage to (John Lennon’s) ‘Instant Karma!”. It’s not about the lyrics, but rather the odd off-time drum improvisation in the chorus. I won’t explain what I’m singing about. I’m currently working on a sequel!”
Peter will be holding a tour in the UK/Europe from April. A few of them will be joined by former The Smith drummer Mike Joyce.
