Singer-songwriter Saki held a solo live performance of “Saki 2nd One Man Live “Glow and Grow”” at ADRIFT in Shimokitazawa on Sunday, April 20th, 2025. Two performances were held day and night, with the daytime performance being acoustic and the nighttime performance being different from the band.
The live title of this live show, “Glow and Grow,” has been a theme since last year, with the meaning of “growth” and “leaps,” and has also released four songs that match this theme.
At the opening of the afternoon performance, a video of the “growth” of the “feelings” that fans received from previous releases and live shows, appearing to have grown into a single tree, with about 500 of them being like leaves. The video ends and the skylight in the venue opens, and Saki appears on the stage where the sunlight shining.
The first song, “Tsuki,” captivated the audience with their relaxed singing voice and gentle atmosphere. In the next song, “My Recipe,” the lyrics were sung by the audience, “La-Rara,” and the entire venue was united.
After sang “Eraser” and “From That Day” with the MC who talked about her memories of her student days, Saki performed a cover of “Full of Memories” (H₂O), which was sung by the teachers at the school who sang it and was memorable. They also performed “When Spring Comes Tomorrow” by Matsu Takako, one of the artists Saki respects.
From here, Cajon’s support members also joined the game, and the skylight was closed, and the “Silhouette in Blue” that he showed off shows footage from the actual location, the same illustrations from Saki’s lyric video on YouTube, creating a change of time from the evening to the night. In the following, “I Want to Talk on a Night like this,” Saki gently sang as if to sing along the venue, which had the atmosphere of the night.
The live performance finally approaches, with Saki also holding an acoustic guitar and performing “Behind the Smile”. “Woa-oh,” where the audience sings together with “Change,” has become a standard.
In the following MC, he said, “I’ve been fighting alone for a long time, but recently there have been more people around me who I think about with, and I’ve been able to look at other things too.” With this in mind, the main story was brought to an end by performing his new song “From This World to Goodbye,” which he produced.
During the encore, she happily sang the rock sound “Hagrenbo” and the musical pop “Late Show” that symbolizes Saki. The show performed a total of 13 songs, including 11 original songs and two covers, allowing you to fully enjoy Saki.
A few hours later, the evening performance began.
Saki appears as the venue warms up as the band members’ session began at the end of the opening footage. They performed three songs in one go, “Start in life,” “It’s changing,” and “I’ve been waiting for the rain.” As the venue’s voltage rises, they sang rock-style “Hagurenbo” and “Utsusemi,” and, completely different from the afternoon performance, they showed off the unique band formations.
From here on, “I Want to Talk on a Night like this,” footage of Saki filming the journey from Shimokitazawa Station to the venue of the live show was shown on the screen. The performance conveys the unique nature of Saki, as the audience would have seen the scenery on the day. Next, the glitterums distributed upon entry are sung as stars and “Look up at Orion.”
The evening performance is approaching the end, and Saki gave the audience a “I Loved Christmas,” and then performed three songs that give a musical feel, including “The Playwright” and “Late Show.” Finally, he sang “Until I Say Goodbye from This World” with all his might.
During the encore, the band sang “Wish” with only keyboard accompaniment, and at the end, all the band members performed “My Recipe” and concluded the two performances, day and night.
All 13 songs were made up of original songs in the evening performance. The live performance was a place where we were able to show a sense of unity with the venue and the audience. I hope you will be paying attention to Saki’s future activities, as he has been active in a wide range of ways.
