THE SMASHING PUMPKINS “SIGHOMMI (Visualizer)”

■ABOUT THE SMASHING PUMPKINS

When the Smashing Pumpkins appeared in 1988, the world was amazed at their first sound. Covers genres such as rock, pop, shoegazer, metal, goth, psyche and electronic, and creates kaleidoscope sounds with sweet melodies, lazy distortion, dramatic orchestra, inflammatory guitar, rich composition abilities and solid hooks. From the beginning of their formation, they had a unique and innovative sound, and that remains the same today.

To date, they have sold over 30 million albums worldwide, winning two Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and the American Music Awards. It has made a brilliant history with Gish (1991), certified platinum discs for 4 million copies, Siamese Dream (1993), certified platinum discs for 10 million copies, Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness (1995), certified 10 million copies of diamond discs for Adore (1998), certified platinum discs for 1 million copies, and Machina / The Machine Of Gold (2000), certified 500,000 copies of gold discs.

In 2018, they held one of their most successful tours, “The Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour,” and released their album “Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.” In 2020, he released his 11th full album, “Cyr,” a two-disc predecessor. In 2023, he released his 12th three-act album, “ATUM: A Rock Opera In Three Acts.”

Last year, he released his 13th new album, “Aghori Mhori Mei.” The lineup of original members, Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlain and James Iha, is overwhelming with a sound reminiscent of their early 90s, using guitar, bass and drums to sharply slit vocals.
