The first big work since the first album, “Ikeru,” and the featured work following the packed show on Public Records
“whosgonnafeedyou LikeThis,” which will be released on May 18th by Eryngii Records, is Midi Neutron’s first full-fledged new EP since his 2024 debut album “Ikeru.” After a sold-out live performance held at the popular Brooklyn venue Public Records, this film is taking on a deeper experimental beat and introspective and emotional sound construction.
Growing up in New York and Tokyo, Midi Neutron is an artist who creates a unique, immersive sound experience by combining ambient sound images, experimental hip-hop, and the influences of the LA beat scene. The live performances, which made full use of analog equipment and custom setups, have been performed at numerous important New York venues, including Elsewhere, Sultan Room, Nublu, and Mercury Lounge.
“This work is about creating a world out of instincts and emotions,” says Midi Neutron. “The first half is chaotic, odd, playful, and in the second half moves into a more reflective, meditative mood. I pursue a feeling of surprise at my music.”
The EP contains a total of six songs. The composition, which unfolds from abstract, experimental rhythms to songs with an internal, lyrical worldview, shines through free musical storytelling, inspired by the LA beat movement of the early 2010s.
