The opening theme for the first season of YOASOBI’s TV anime “Freen of Funeral,” “Hero,” has surpassed 300 million views in streaming on the Billboard JAPAN chart, which was released on June 18, 2025 (counting period: June 9th to June 15th, 2025). The song was written as the opening theme for the TV anime “Funeral Frelen” (first season), which began airing in September 2023, and was released on September 29th of the same year. The song is based on a novel written by Yamada Kaneto, the original author of “Frelen of Funeral,” and expresses the somewhat lonely, melancholy atmosphere depicted in the work, as well as the changing emotional movements of the main character Frelen, reminiscent of the new beginning of the story.
Like the main TV anime “Frelen of Funeral,” Music Video, produced by Madhouse, has now surpassed 170 million views, and is still a song that is loved along with the work.
