Nao’ymt will release the seventh project of his 25th anniversary, “Fading,” on July 1st. Mellow R&B depicts the glare of youth floating in the faded summer

The seventh installment of “Yamata Naoaki 2025” is brought to you by Nao’ymt, known for being produced by Miura Daichi and Amuro Namie. A poetic R&B track has been created that delicately depicts the “faded summer” beyond glare.

The new song “Fading” was released on July 1st as the seventh installment of Nao’ymt’s 25th anniversary project, Yata Naoaki 2025.

Fading is a superb mellow R&B track with a sharp Nao’ymt style, and a soundscape that makes the summer light slowly melt away.

The chorus passage, “We were like fireworks,” exudes a vivid memory of youth and a quiet sadness that looks up at it from afar.

Time passes and the colour fades.

However, there is a beauty that can only be seen because it has faded. “Fading” is a song that not only brings back memories of dazzling youth, but also depicts the scenes and temperatures of “Adult Summer” that spreads beyond that.

“There are probably some scenery that can only be drawn in diluted colors.”

By overlapping the universal themes of “summer” and “change,” Nao’ymt instilled new poetry into R&B.

Nao’ymt himself also wrote the lyrics, composed, track making and vocals. Dave Kutch, who worked on The Weeknd, Son Lux, and Billie Eilish, was also featured in the mastering. The delicate and transparent mix and the enveloping sound image are impressive.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, the Yata Naoaki 2025 project is scheduled to release one new song on the first day of each month from January to December 2025, and Fading is the seventh installment. Nao’ymt’s attitude of continuing to face music is quiet, but certainly resonating with this work.
